Diagnosis and Remedy First B Jackson 2019-09-15 Automatically transcribed. Where this and the recording disagree, the recording is the record. ---- Alright. Morning, everybody. I think it's about that time. Hey. Would you stand with us and and and we'll just begin singing to the Lord and drawing people in here? Let's sing. Like a tree planted by the water, never we were undry. Living water flowing through. Living water flowing Into your word, we're digging deep to know our father's heart. Into the world, we're reaching out to show them who you are. Hear me? Not yet? It's on there now. Okay. Welcome. Good morning. Glad you all are here this morning. We've got a few announcements. Monday nights, what's happening, Carl? Yes. We are on tomorrow. I think Sam's making some beef stew, and we plan to we're on part five, a series on the power of words, and tomorrow's why we need encouragement. So know that you are invited. 06:00, meal, music, message. Meal, music, and a message. 06:00 tomorrow night down the hall. Awana is happening at the same time. Awana starts in this room. You see our game circle is back down on the floor again. So Awana is up and going strong. We had 56 show up last week, and it there's still room for volunteers if you want to volunteer to help with the kids. It's a receptive audience, and it's a lot of fun too. So 56 kids came last week, and it usually grows after that. So if you would, come on, and if you would like to volunteer, you can talk to me or one of us afterwards, and we'll get you plugged in. Puggles, the new group, we actually had, I think, five Puggles showed up. So five are between the ages of two and three, and that was a fun class. Some of the folks who kinda graduated out of the AWANA program were helping alongside the adults in the Puggles class, and that's been really, really fun. Cowboy church. This is happening tonight at 05:00 at the Diamond Cross Ranch. Do you all know where that is? It's in between it's on if you go up like you're going to the park and instead of turning into the north entrance of the park, you keep on going like you're going to Buffalo Valley. It's in between Moran Buffalo Valley. It's headed up like you're going to Togarty Pass. It'll be on the left. There's a big red barn, and it does not have a huge sign. I hope they'll they'll put out something that says come on in here. But the Diamond Cross Ranch is just past the Fates Ranch. Grant Gallaher is gonna be doing a horse whispering demonstration, an illustration of how God deals with people or maybe more how people deal with God from the horse's perspective, but that should be really good. It's also a fundraiser for Bobby Eva. Some of you all know Bobby. It's a silent auction associated with that and supper. I talked to Trevor Eva yesterday. So 05:00, Diamond Cross Ranch, Cowboy Church, it ought to be really, really good. I would encourage you to go to that. Tanya is going to Kenya. This week, she leaves on Tuesday of this week, Tuesday, and so I just wanted to make that announcement. I don't think that she's got an announcement to make. It's fully funded, but we would love to have your prayer support. So she'll be gone from this Tuesday until October 2. So would you pray for her and pray for me and Pascal too while you're at it. Community Bible study. We and by the way, we celebrated our twenty seventh anniversary yesterday. Don, you know? Yep. Yep. Pretty fun. Community Bible study is open to everybody. There was gonna be a longer announcement about this, but we still have a couple of weeks. It's September the twenty fifth and twenty sixth is when it starts. It'll be a Wednesday morning option or a Thursday evening option. So that is a community Bible study officially CBS. It meets here at the church. Nancy, do you have a yes. You're gonna stand up and use your big big girl voice? Yep. Wednesdays at the Presbyterian Church, ten until noon, and this is a is a Bible study for the whole community. We used to have it here. It kinda grab it moves around the valley, and right now it's being held at the Presbyterian Church ten to twelve on Wednesdays. Thank you, Nancy. But it is a ladies Bible Thank you very much. It's a limited community. Alright. I gotcha. Girls Bible study is starting up eight to 13 year old girls from September 18, November 20. That'll be on Wednesdays at four, not 03:30, at four in the whole grocers community room upstairs near the restrooms. If you would like to know more about that, you can ask Nancy Toalson. There is another there are lots of things for high school and junior high girls here right now. This is starting today. So during the time when the Peak Children's Church starts, if if you are a middle school or high school girl and would like to, you can go down stairs and meet up with Judy Wales. She's teaching junior high and high school girl study. Precept study happens on Thursdays, nine to 11:30. We're just getting into the swing of all of these Bible studies starting up. And there will be, and we'll roll it out here before long, an emphasis on seeing new community groups, small groups start up that are kinda geographically based, and some of those have gotten started in the past few weeks, and some of them will be getting going in the next few weeks, but that's happening too. Youth group will be tonight from five to seven. Mike D and JJ have a big plan. Oh, that's right, it's tonight. Oh man, That's the Diamond Cross Ranch thing. We're doing that from five to seven, so they're meeting here earlier and riding in the church van. If you'd like to bum a ride with them, you may. You may be able to if there's space. Connect hour happens between services, and I feel like there's a lot right now. There's a lot. Do y'all have anything else that I've forgotten? Remember Nancy? No? That's it. Alright. Would y'all stand and greet one another, and we'll bring you back together with a song. Thank you for your prompt attention. And we're to the name of Jesus. Are the only king forever. Almighty God, lift you higher. You are the only king forever, the name of Jesus. You are the only king forever. Almighty God lift you higher. You are the only And let's sing. Lift. Let's pray on that, shall we? Lord, truly, you are our great and awesome king, truly, and that you would, make a way to dwell with us, to to be with us, to to draw us to yourself that we could be in your presence. That's absolutely amazing. I thank you, God. Thank you. Truly, from age to age, you reign. Your kingdom has no end. As as we sing to you, God, would you would you soften our hearts, lord? Would you turn tune our hearts to to sing your praise that we would draw close to you as you're drawing close to us. Amen. But I know. But I know whom I believe in. And I persuade that he is able to lead thy which I've been made unto him From Romans, it says, for I'm not ashamed of the gospel for it is the power of God unto salvation for everyone who believes. Listen, you are and you are not ashamed of Jesus Christ. I will stand boldly saying that this is my life. I'm not ashamed of the the gospel. Not ashamed of Jesus Christ. I will stand and boldly say. This is my life. He's the author of salvation and faith. Let's sing that out. You are the author of salvation ashamed of the gospel. Not ashamed of Jesus Christ. I will stand and don't be saved. This is my life. Not ashamed of the gospel. Not ashamed of Jesus Christ. I'm saying, do you say, this is my life. Amen. Would y'all pray with me? Y'all can have a seat. Lord, thank you for this beautiful morning. I thank you for this gathering here that we are gathered in your name to praise and worship you, to learn from your word, from your way, from your manner, Jesus, from your teachings, lord, from your example, from your shed blood, and a perfect life. Jesus, we love you. It's in your name, lord, that we pray. It's in your name that we want to live our lives out in front of others, lord, who do not yet have the hope of knowing you and so God, I pray that we would we would bend our will to yours and we would glorify you that we it would be for our good and your glory. Everything that we do And Lord, at this time where we come in this service right here to put in some of the resources which you blessed us with. Lord, what we're asking for is that you do your will with those in any way that you see fit. Lord, would you advance your good gospel to the very ends of Earth. I pray specifically this week as we have missionaries going out including Tanya, my wife, that you would bless the efforts of those who have bowed the knee to you and lord are seeking to do your will. We also have our brother Eugene up here in the band who is leaving out to go to Wawa, Montana and whereas some people put some things in the plates right here right now. Some are given their lives to your service and whatever way you would have them go, lord. I pray that you would send a blessing in every way. In Jesus name, amen. Amen. Here's my heart, Lord. Here's my heart, Lord. Here's my heart, Lord. Endure. You are good, always true. You are light breaking through. You are more than enough. You are you. You are love. You are hope. Speak what is true. Here's my life. Here's my life, Lord. Here's my life, Lord. It's time downstairs now for children's church and middle school and high school girls study is starting up right now too. How are y'all? Okay? Doing alright? Just checking. It's been a it's been a pretty heavy week spiritually. We've had some precious in the eyes of the Lord as the death of his saints, right? We've we did a funeral yesterday that was a celebration of a life well lived servant of God for a long long time. That was great but there's been a lot of other this week too. Lot of heavy stuff and so I just want you to to pray before we get started here this morning. God, I I pray that that you would lighten the burden lord of the temporal stuff that we all are dealing with. There's a loss of loved ones. Lord, I've been walking through that with people this week and there is a loss of community that we've been walking through together here, lord. In Jesus name, lord, I pray that you will be the balm that's needed for those sore places. I pray that you will do your will and your way through your word here this morning. God, I pray that you'd hide had me behind the cross, behind the pages of your word that we would we would genuinely hear from you. Here's my heart, lord. Speak what is true. In Jesus name, I pray that we would reach that place where we don't just stop at life is hard but we get to the but God is good that we get to pass the point of thinking, how long will I wrestle with my thoughts and how long will my enemies triumph over me that we'd get to but I trust in your unfailing love and my heart rejoices lord that you've saved from above not because we deserve it because you're good. It is your grace lord that we're we're seeking here today. It is your mercy that we're thankful for. We know it was new this morning. God, would you give us hearts that are receptive to the word that you give this morning. Jesus name, amen. So, we are up to Hebrews five eleven and we're going to go through six three, five eleven through six three. We are right on the edge of the strongest warning in the whole New Testament. We're not going to get there today but right on the edge of it. So, I'm preparing you. The last thing I said to this service last Sunday, would y'all read ahead? Would y'all read ahead and be reading this because it has the power to transform your life if you pay attention. I think that that's a lot of the argument of Hebrews and we'll see that again today but if you get ahead a bit, it's something that will cause you to kind of gasp a little bit. So, today, we have diagnosis and remedy, okay? Diagnosis and remedy. We're going to see what the problem is as the writer of Hebrews to that first century audience that is out of first century Judaism. So, they're out of that and they have come to Christ and they're tempted to go back to that which they know, right? It's funny that Judaism is based on one man believing God and leaving that which they know to go to a place where they'll show em and yet they get to be tempted and they want to drift back into that because it's easier. It's something that they know. So, diagnosis and remedy is what will be. That's five eleven through 14. Chapter breaks are all just inventions we put in later so we can find stuff. So, that's not divinely inspired and Hebrews to me at least more than any other book is everything is tied to everything else. It is just a network of exhortation and warning and love and theology and practical advice, all of this stuff all in one thing and everything touches on everything else. So, for us today, we're just covering these seven verses. Here we go Concerning him, we have much to say. Well, I can't just start right there, right? Concerning him, who's him? I don't even remember last week. Y'all remember last week The last thing I talked about was Melchizedek, right? That's the last guy talked about and it says concerning him, we have much to say. Imma ramp up to it really quickly here. In the days of his flesh and this is Jesus. He offered up both prayers and supplications with loud crying and tears to the one who was able to save him from death. He kept on entrusting himself to God who judges rightly. He offered up prayers and supplications, loud crying tears to the one who's able to save him from death. He was heard because of his piety. Although he was a son, he learned obedience from the things which he suffered and haven't been made perfect, he became to all those who obey obey him a source of eternal salvation. Being designated by God as a high priest according to the order of Melchizedek then it says, concerning him. So, we've got in the days of his flesh, he offered up prayers to the ones able to save him from death. He was heard because of his piety although he was a son, he learned obedience from what which he suffered and having been made perfect, he became to all those who obey him the source of eternal salvation being designated by God as a high priest according to the order of Melchizedek or Melchizedek. Who is him? Everybody argues about this. The point here is we've got something to say about him and I think it's Melchizedek. I knew you were going to say Jesus because that's the right answer in church, right? I think it's Melchizedek but people argue about it. There are theologians that argue about it. There are some that even argue that it's not Jesus or Melchizedek but some idea which they've given a masculine form. I don't know why. Concerning him, we have much to say. I actually do think it's Melchizedek because in chapter seven, after this long parenthesis, we're going to come back to it right here. Concerning him, we have much to say. It's hard to explain since you become dull of hearing. That's an opening line for a preacher right there, isn't it? It's kind of hard to explain because y'all are dull of hearing. This is a big parenthesis from this verse up to about six twenty It's a parenthesis and this is kind of a digression or parenthesis where he's talking about something else and it's diagnosis remedy warning, it's the strongest warning in the New Testament starts in six four and goes through eight and then nine through something is encouragement. So, that's what we're going to cover in the next two weeks is this diagnosis remedy, the warning, and encouragement. I want for you to read ahead because I think that you need to wrestle with it rather than just hearing what I've come to after I've wrestled with it. I think that's important. So, diagnosis and remedies right here. For these concerning him and I think it's Melchizedek, We have much to say. There's more said in the seventh chapter of Hebrews about Melchizedek than there was in the whole Old Testament if you double it, okay? So, concerning him, we have much to say and it is hard to explain. The hard to explain is translating one Greek word that means difficult to interpret or hard to be understood. This is the only time that this is used in scripture. It's certainly the only time that scripture uses this about itself because the plain teaching of scripture is plain. There's not, it's not that hard to understand. It's hard to do. It's hard to put it into practice but it's not that hard to understand. So, when the writer of Hebrews says it's difficult to interpret or it's hard to be understood, immediately tells why it's hard to be understood. It says, it's it's hard to explain since you've become dull of hearing. Oh. That's a sharp rebuke. If you look what you've become, oh my goodness, this means you were not that way and now you are that way. You have become dull of hearing. So, you were hearing and you were hearing well and at some point, something changed and now, you're sluggish, some of your translations will say or dull of hearing. That dull of hearing is this word, no frost. No frost means blunt, dull, not sharp, not edgy, blunt or dull, and hence, spiritually sluggish, remiss, slack, or lazy. Now, that's what's changed. There was a fire in the beginning but now, there is just I'm over it. That's a tough word to hear. You might be looking around and thinking, well, that guy or that gal is not. They seem to, this just seems to fill their bucket all the time. It just is always that way but I just, ugh, I can't go there again. I can't do that anymore. That's the same situation that these folks in the first century are being faced with. It's like, I know how to do this. I know what's expected me over there. I just can't do that right now. Now, that's not good. You become dull of hearing, sluggish, lazy, not looking at. I am from Georgia and I don't think in seven years, I don't think I've used the term backslidden yet but I heard it every Sunday. I heard it all the time. We don't preach on it very much but this is describing a condition that is commonly called at least in the Southeast backslide backslide. Drop the G on that. Backslide. You become dull of hearing. You know everything. You got the right answers and you just think, come on. Can I just have a little fun? Oh, the deceitfulness of sin. Sneaks in and that's already been mentioned, right? And it says, we should in 03/13, we should be encouraging each other day by day, encouraging, not damning each other, not condemning each other. We should be encouraging each other day by day, lifting each other up, building each other up so that we don't get taken in by the deceitfulness of sin. When you start to be taken in by the deceitfulness of sin, it starts looking better than Jesus and this whole book is about Jesus being better than everything else and he is. Concerning him, we have much to say. It's hard to explain since you have become dull of hearing for though by this time, you ought to be teachers. Y'all been believers for a while. You're second. You know, you had the whole Old Testament. You had that kind of down. You've memorized that. You know that. You know the forms of it. You knew all the shadows that were pointing towards Christ. You know all the types. That were pointing to an anti type, right? To Jesus, you knew all of these things and you've got that and you got those and when you accepted it, at some point, you just got lazy. You started to backslide. There might be a pet sin that God revealed to you that you said, you know, I'm not willing to give that one up. Imma hold on to that one. Do that and it gets between you and God. Still small voice becomes difficult to hear and it's really, really, really frustrating to try to go forward. For those time you, by this time, you ought to be teachers, there had been enough time lapsed between the time that they accepted the truth of the gospel that they knew, like I said, in shadow form and then they saw it, recognized it, realized it, and accepted it. For though by this time, you ought to be teachers, you have need again for someone to teach you the elementary or rudimentary principles of the oracles or words of God. Actually, ABCs, you have need again for somebody teaching your ABCs. Now, once you've gotten to where you can read, and you're getting past the point of grammar and letters and you're forming sounds and then you're able to understand that these things make up words. You shouldn't ever have to go back again. There's a very odd condition at hand when somebody has to go back and learn their ABCs again. That's not normal. So, this body example or life example is trying to say, you you you have been long enough that you should be able to teach this to other people instead of just feeding yourselves. You should be able to feed others by now but you gotta go back and learn your ABCs again. And you have come. Oh, that you have come. It's point the verb tense right there. It's pointing back just like that. You have become dull of hearing. It says, you have come to need milk and not solid food. Wait a second, babies start off needing milk and then they get to be more and more and they get to where they need solid food and it's odd when you go back to just need milk, right? There's a sick, there's a condition going on. If you have to stop eating solid food and go backwards. He's saying, there's a maturity that should have happened by now but something is stunting this maturity. For everyone who partakes only of milk is not accustomed to the word of righteousness. Now, that is saying what it is. That's telling you the diagnosis of what it is. When it when you got past the point of knowing that Jesus was it and it comes to walking that out. The word of righteousness, actually living a righteous life. Not just accepting Jesus's salvation but participating in sanctification, striving for leaning forward Everyone who partakes only of milk is not accustomed to the word of righteousness or he's an infant Yeah, this is fun up here this Sunday It's not fun. It's not fun but this is a real diagnosis of what really was going on then and I'm afraid some of what's going on right here right now. We can get lazy and we can get sluggish and we do and when we do, what we need is God's word. We need God's word. We need the community of God's people. We need the Holy Spirit. We need encouragement to keep on pressing on. So, we'll go forward with the diagnosis. For everyone who partakes only of milk is not accustomed to the word of righteousness. For he is an infant. There's something that should grow out of your salvation experience. The word of righteousness but solid food is for the mature. Who because of practice and this is interesting because we have the choice every day when we get up in the morning, we say, lord, I long to do your will and then openly accept how he leads when we see our own sin, we can confess it and he cleanses us from that sin and he says, he's faithful and just to be cleansing us from all unrighteousness. If we get up and we by our practice, lay our burdens down at God's feet and accept his righteousness and then walk it out. Lord, show me your way and I will walk in it. We have that choice. We can say that or we can say, you know what? I'm just going to do what I want to do today. I'm taking the day off. Cheat day for those on a diet. We're going to do intermittent fasting. Solid food is for the mature. Those who are mature are mature because of practice. They have trained their senses. How? They've trained their senses to discern good and evil. It's it's not always clear exactly which way you should go. It really isn't. There are a lot of temptations and sin is incredibly deceitful and you can be swayed to the right or to the left but the good old gospel way of lord, I long to do your will. Show me your way and I'll walk in it as a good one. Show me your way, lord and if I if I don't discern that properly and I end up doing something wrong, confess. I confess. Lord, show me. I love the part from a couple weeks ago where it says, the Old Testament priest, the good one at least, could deal gently with the ignorant and misguided. How many of y'all feel ignorant or misguided? I'll raise both hands. But I tell you what, cures that is God's word. It really does help and it really can be understood. It's perspicuous. It is clear. It's clear. It's hard to understand if you're dull of hearing. If you don't want to hear it, yeah, it's hard. How many of you all have young ones? Kids, sorry. How many of you have children? Yeah? I mean, not goats. Around here, there are plenty of people with goats. Does the hearing seem to be selective? I think as the American church at large, we hear ice cream, everybody want ice cream? You can whisper ice cream and everybody in the room will hear it but if you say, go make your bed, clean your room, get ready. It's like, I know. Well, we got time. I got time for that. Ice cream. Oh, gracious. Here we are. Ice cream. You said ice cream. Solid food is for the mature who because of practice and it does take practice to be able to discern good and evil but God will show you. You submit your will to his will and he will sanctify. That's the end of chapter five. That's the diagnosis. So, we're going forward into chapter six and it's therefore. Now, I just preached it but I'm going tell you again, what the therefore is there for is this, for by this time, you ought to be teachers and you need somebody else to teach your ABCs. You've come to need milk and not solid food. That's an illustration for everyone who partakes only of milk is not accustomed to the word of righteousness. Righteousness, holiness really does matter. It really makes a difference. You don't keep growing if you don't sign on for the full program If you're just taking it for fire insurance it's not the same thing as practicing Christian For everyone who partakes only of milk is not accustomed to the word of righteousness for he's an in Solid food is for the mature who because of practice have their senses trained to discern good and evil. If I went any any further, actually, you could sum that up just by saying it's hard to explain because you're dull of hearing. That's what it is. God forgive us. He's already or the writer of Hebrews has already said this, for this reason, we must pay much closer attention to what we've heard so we don't drift away from it and by illustration from the Old Testament used it in chapter three verses seven, eight, and 15. Therefore, just as the Holy Spirit says, today, today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as when they provoke me in the wilderness as in the day wilderness trial. Today, if you hear his voice, chapter, I mean, verse 15 says, today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts. If you hear God speaking, lord, I long to do your will. Alright. Forgive your mother. Lord, I long to do your will. Be gracious. Be gracious to people. Be loving. There's something that you're doing that is harmful to you and an affront to me, God may say. Lay that down. I'll give you the strength. Lay it down. Day by day, we can do this. Today, if you hear his voice and it is day by day. Today, if you hear his voice, don't harden your hearts. Therefore, remedy. Leaving the elementary teaching about Christ. If he just said, you have some need of learning your ABCs all over again, you would think the next thing he'd say is, so A, everybody say it with me. A. No, he doesn't do this. Leave all that stuff behind. You already know it. You're acting like you don't know it. You're just dwelling on these messages that are these easy, simple first things. Leaving the elementary teaching about the Christ. It's about Jesus. Yeah, that's what he did. What are you going to do with what you know about what he did? Leaving behind the elementary teaching about Christ, let us what? Press on to maturity. Press on to maturity. You cannot force yourself by force of will to spiritually grow but you can submit your will to God's will and go and do as he leads and he will mature you. That let us press on to maturity actually. Yeah. They're letting us press on. It doesn't show it very well in the New American Standard Version but the let us press on is actually a passive verb. It's saying that there is an active one acting upon us who can and will mature us but we have to be willing to let that happen. Submit your will to God's will and allow him to do in you as he wills and it will. Happen. Therefore, leaving the elementary teaching about the Christ, let us press on to maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works. That's absolutely required to be a believer in Jesus. It's absolutely required to be saved, alright? I'm going to slip back in my backslide. Now, we're talking about being saved. Salvation is what it's about. There's no doubt. Salvation is what it's about but it doesn't stop with salvation. It must continue on through sanctification. Repentance from dead works that are saying, I am leaving behind that which I know and everything. There's nothing I can do that would be sufficient. I have sin in my life. There's nothing I can do about that by myself. So, repentance is I am turning my back on my own sin and I'm putting my faith in God through Christ. So, repentance from dead works and faith toward God. Yes. Let's don't lay that foundation again. It's there. It's solid. That's good. Yes. You must repent and yes, God is the only place where salvation is available. About instructions, about washings. Now, first century Jewish church and all of the little sects that came off of that had very specific washing rituals. How they had to wash their hands, how they had to wash before meals, how they had to wash in the mornings, Qumran where they found the Dead Sea Scrolls. There there are bathing pits all over that place for purity rituals. So, he's saying, we're going to leave behind the fact that yes, you're saved by Christ alone. Yes, we're, that's a good foundation. We're not going to spend a whole lot of time on that, me to you in this book. The writer says to them and we're not going to talk a whole lot about rituals, washing, the laying on of hands. How exactly are you supposed to lay on hands? Is it okay if you're in the back row to lay hands on like this where you're not actually touching them? When we lay hands on people, how we do it is that important? They qui a lot over that kind of stuff and you know, it's it's how we do church. It's practice. So, if you get hung up where you're talking about your ritual and how how you're going to do the offering and how you're going to do Lord's supper and how you're going to do what you're going to do and not why you're doing it. It can be really problematic and it can stunt your growth if you pay more attention to what the way that you do something, the form of worship rather than the one you're worshiping. So, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works of faith to God of of instruction about washings or laying on of hands and the resurrection of dead and eternal judgment. Heaven and hell matter. It but I'm not going to lay that foundation again. That's true and y'all know that but that's not all that this is about. That's the point and we're already up to verse six two here. We only have one more verse. The diagnosis is dull of hearing because you know it all. Are y'all getting that? You're dull of hearing and you have somebody teach you what really makes a difference in the way you live your life instead of just quibbling over churchy church stuff. This is the quietest I've ever heard this room and I did a funeral yesterday. Golly. Hebrews is a full adult portion of instruction about washings and laying on of hands and of the resurrection of the dead and eternal judgment. Heaven, resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment, eternal torment for those who are not raised to live life in God's presence. That matters. It matters especially to those who don't yet know that but to those of us who do, we need to be living our life here on Earth of some earthly good, not just being so heavenly minded that we're of no earthly good, right? And this we will do, the writer of Hebrews says, if God permits. Good old. As God wills. I love that. Now, we're short of the hour. That gives you seven whole minutes this week. You can read this passage before I get to it next week, alright? I promise you this will be good for you. It is solid food. It is really, really, really good for us to study. The warning is scary, quite honestly, and then the encouragement is encouraging but the encouragement does not negate the warning. It's real and next week, when we get to that, y'all see what I'm talking about. There's a big warning sign. Would y'all get the band back up here? We got a whole band come up and we'll sing another song. Are we singing speak, oh Lord? Is that what we're singing? Yeah. Oh, perfect. Speak, oh Lord. Would y'all stand with us? Lord, forgive us where we fail you. I know you do. You say you do and we trust you at your word. You say, if I'm confessing my sins, lord, you say that you're forgiving me of all of my sin and you're cleansing me from all unrighteousness. That says, lord, you're doing the work. I am just being honest with myself and with you about what's going on. Lord, may we not ever be drawn in by the deceitfulness of sin. Would you, lord, do your will and your way this week? And and renew our minds. Help us grasp the heights of your plans for us. Truths unchanged from the dawn of time that will echo down through eternity. And my grace will stand on your promises and my faith will walk as you walk with us. Speak, go Amen. And we are commissioning Eugene to go out. I'm a lay hands on him right now. Wanna ask anyway. Any of y'all, if y'all wanna do that, lay hands from there, you're welcome to. Becky is here too. Becky. Come on forward, Becky. You didn't know this was gonna happen. Becky Grice is here somewhere. Well, I'll just reach that way for her. Alright. These two are headed up to Montana and they're going up with an eye towards being involved in school of worship and they're seeking call on their lives to see exactly where God would send them. Where in the world will they be going and what they would be doing but as they go, they're studying and they're digging in deep to what it says. God, would you bless? I know you will. I know you do. Lord, I thank you for Eugene and for the seven years that he has put in here in this band. He's been walking out that word of righteousness. He's been maturing the whole time. And God, I pray as Becky has been doing the same and serving lord, she has gone and served people young and old, different places, and she longs to do your will. Lord, I pray that you would be evident in their lives that the support would be the prayer support would be overwhelming that their financial support would never be lacking and lord that you would do through them this the things that you have prepared ahead of time. They are both your poema, your workmanship craftsmanship created in Christ Jesus, masterpieces, that they would walk out the works that you have ordained for them ahead of time. In Jesus' name, would you do that and give them the confidence to go forward day by day. Amen. Amen.
