Grow in Grace and Knowledge First B Jackson 2019-06-16 Automatically transcribed. Where this and the recording disagree, the recording is the record. ---- Good morning, everybody. How are you? Good to see you. It's a beautiful, beautiful day. What do you say we stand up? Give our God praise together. Here in this morning weary. Here in this morning weary land, many a dream has died. Like a tree planted by the water, never we were on dry. Then the water flowing through, life. It's time for us to mourn and just survive. We were made to thrive into your word. Into your word, we're digging deep to know our father's heart. And to the world we're reaching out to show them who you are. Living the water flowing through, God, we can thirst for more of you. Fill our hearts and flood our souls with the one desire. To know you're making known just to know you and to make you known. Lift your name all night. Shine like the sun may Amen. Y'all can have a seat. I have a few announcements this morning and probably more than are up here. Yeehaw. Clicker. For some reason, there we go. Monday night is the first week. What's happening tomorrow night? We're on. Meal, music, and a Mike Chadwell. Okay. Very cool. Yep. Very cool. What's on the menu. Okay. There will be food. There'll be food. Meal, music, and a message tomorrow night from Mike. Y'all meet Mike in a few minutes here. So, for some reason, things not working, Blake. So, there we go. Vacation Bible School, Miraculous Mission, June 24 to the twenty eighth. That's a morning Bible School. So, nine to twelve, 09:00 in the morning till twelve noon, June 24 through the twenty eighth. If you'd like to register a child, there's a booth in the back set up back there. You can also do that online. If you want to be a volunteer, I think they're probably would still be able to get you trained and use you if you want to do that. So, that's back there too. Vacation Bible School decorating day is coming up June 22 at 9AM. That's going to be a Saturday. This thing should be working now. There it is. Thank you. June 22, 9AM is Vacation Bible School decorating day. Immigrant Hope is still collecting shoes. The office is great. We see shoes walk in and we see shoes walk out without people in em though. There there are whole bunches of shoes coming in. Thousands and thousands of em. They're trying to raise 25 pairs and they're well on their way right now. So, if you would, bring your lightly used or new shoes in and we'll get em to Immigrant Hope. We've got a mission trip going to Gillette, Wyoming to repair the building of Scott Eichen's church plan is what that says. Y'all remember Scott Eichen. He was associate pastor here for years. Good, good, good guy and he is they are attempting to reboot or replant a church. So, they have a building but they don't have a really active membership yet. So, they're working at that and you know how he is with meeting people. It's really really good with that. So, if we can help with the facilities, that's what we want to do. I'm planning on going. Gary's planning on going. Gary's more in charge. Would you stand up and say howdy one more time? He loves this part. Thank you. That's a good good word there. Thank you very much. That is July 10 through the thirteenth. You still have some lead time on it if you're needing to ask off work or work your schedule around so you can work different hours but that ought to be a lot of fun. We'll take the church van and as many vehicles as we need to to get all of us up there that can go. Directory updates and list of talents. This is something Nick's gonna tell us about. Oh, yeah. Yes, you are. You can just lean into Carl's microphone there. Oh, it's You're a professional. Okay. Hey, everybody. We've got a directory that we send out every year, and we just try to update it as often as we can. So we're gonna pass it around. If you check-in there, see if your information's in there, cross out anything that's wrong, add what's new, and then right next to it, just write in there, any talents you might have that you'd be willing to help out with the church. So if you could paint or you can work with kids, something like that, you'd be willing to contribute. We'd like to pass that along to the elders so we can get everybody activated that way. And if you were not in the directory, just find the blank page and write in your information. And, also, I'll be walking around before and during and after the service to take photos for the next couple weeks. And even right now, after we're done with the announcements, if you want to just raise your hand, I'll come take your picture real quick, and then we'll get you guys added in here. So Thank you very much. I'll pass these one on each side. Just fill it out. Amen. Thank you, Nick. Appreciate that. That's Nick Stern. He is our assistant office manager here at the church. If you missed a message, you can catch it again on the internet, Facebook, live. We do em live during the streaming during the service but we also keep em up there and we have audio up and available on firstbjackson.org. There's a connect hour between services which will be down the hall. There's coffee and donuts and all kinds of stuff down there in between the services. Oh, happy Father's Day. I'm glad they put that up there. Thank you very much. That's good. I'm a father. Happy Father's Day. I I got introduced at something a while back and they said, this is father Ray because it was one of these kind of events where everybody is included and the guy who he goes to Our Lady Of The Mountains and he said, well, father Ray, would you come up and give the prayer and everybody kind of went. I said, well, I am a father. Pascal is my only daughter but it's good. Happy Father's Day to all of you guys. I appreciate that. We don't have a Father's Day sermon like we had a Mother's Day sermon but y'all are still here listening. So, welcome fathers. There's something else. If there's anything else that I've forgotten, it should be in the bulletin but there are some. Alright. It is a communion Sunday. Where's the communion? It's in the resource room. It's a great resource. We'll get that up here before this. That's Becky Murphy. She prepares the communion for us each time along with Roseanne. If we can get a couple of elders to grab the table. Yes. Couple of elders. Matt, would you do that? Thank you very much. Before sometime before the end of the service. It's good. I also wanted to mention Brianna Suter. Brianna, are you around? She is head would you stand up too? She is headed off to YWAM soon. Next Sunday, she's leaving out. She's going, would you like to share about that? Come on up. Whether you would or whether you wouldn't. She is headed out. She has almost all of the fundraising done. So, you don't have to ask. I will, alright? She's like $700 short. It is. To further my walk with Christ. I feel like I'm kind of new on this walk. So all of your prayers, much appreciated. I am very excited to go. Amen. Thank you. Wonderful. But thank you, Brianna. And there's another one that I'm missing here. There. There it is. Old Faithful Christian Ranch. Would you come up? Aaron Anderson. Yay. So Aaron Anderson is gonna be working with Old Faithful Christian Ranch for the summer. Just you give the blurb. How about you? Okay. So like you said, my name is Aaron. There's a camp called Old Faithful Christian Ranch. It's in Island Park. For those of you who have done the men's retreat, that's where it is held. And they do a four week camp for grades fourth through twelfth grade. Well, graduated seniors. So if you graduated this year, you can go. And something that is awesome is not only being able to send your kids there to learn more about the Lord, but they can invite their friends and everything. But they also need staff to be able to be cabin leaders, photographers, music, kitchen staff who get to do dishes, prep meals, and stuff. Sounds boring, but it's so much fun. And it's something that I've done on and off for the past few years, but it's definitely something that's near and dear to my heart. You get to work with a bunch of other Christians and just I love them so much. And I want you guys to be able to be a part of that as well. So it's for the entire month of July. And if you are interested in volunteering, the minimum age is 15 years old. You can come for a few days. You can come for a couple weeks if you want. But I would love to talk to you more about it if you want more information. They need volunteers so bad. So if you guys need if you guys know of anyone who doesn't have a job this summer or just has time on their hands, please let me know. But thanks. My name is Aaron again. Minimum age is 15 on that. So if you would like to serve and you're older than 15, you can do that. The first summer that I was out here as an intern, I was here as an intern and at the very end of the summer on Thursday, somebody said, hey, the pastor of this middle school retreat that's coming up next week had to bail for a reason he couldn't control and so he's not going to be there. Will you do it? I had done eight messages over the course of the whole summer and they said, you got eight messages between Monday at noon and Friday at noon and I couldn't use the same messages. It was a huge, huge blessing and so I just say, no, I cried between services. I'm not going to lie but I don't think that it's going to be that kind of pressure on y'all. I don't think so but if you want to serve, it's in Island Park. So, it's just couple hours from here. It's a good good camp. So, anything else? Alright. Love y'all. Happy Father's Day. Would you stand up and greet one another and we'll bring you back together with a song. Pretty quick here. You got it. It's probably it's usually in the foyer. And as I rise, strength of God. And go before and lift me up. As I wake, Be my guide. Be my guide. Above and loath me before and behind me In every eye that sees me, grasp me all around me, above and below me. Before and behind me, in every eye that sees me, I spiel around me. And as I go hand of God, My defense by my side as I rest. Breath of God fall upon and bring me peace. Bring me peace above and lure me before and behind me in every eye that sees me. Grasp beyond me above and below me before and behind me in every eye every moment above and below me. Before and behind me, in every eye that sees me, grasp beyond me, I share a psalm with you. It's from Psalm one thirty nine. Let's hear this. Oh Lord, you've examined my heart and you know everything about me. Consider that the Lord has examined our hearts. He knows everything about us. You go before me and you follow me. You place your hand of blessing on my head. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too great for me to understand. Catch this, I can never escape from your spirit. I can never get away from your presence. Let's pray on that. God, I thank you that we can never escape from your spirit, that we can never get away from from your presence. You are present everywhere. Anywhere we go, you are with us. And Lord, presence is joy. Your presence is peace. Your presence is so much more, and we're grateful for it this morning. So we celebrate you. We look to you. We sing to you. We find a refuge and our strength in you. Amen. Alright. How for how firm a foundation you saints of the Lord Slayed for your faith in his excellent said, to you who are refused when Jesus hath left. Fear not, but fear not he is with us, so be not dismayed. For he is our God, our sustainer and strength. He'll be our defender and cause us to stand upheld by his mercy for almighty hand. How firm our foundation, how sure our foundation and we will not be shaken. Jesus burn foundation. The soul that's trusting. The soul that is trusting in Jesus is Lord will press on enduring in darkest of storms. And though we even held should endeavor to shake, he'll never, no, never, no, never forsake. How firm a foundation, how sure show our salvation, and we will not be shaken. Jesus, our foundation. Let me pray on that. God, truly you are our firm foundation. We have a sure fit footing, a strong, strong, solid base when we build our lives on you, when we put our trust and our faith and our hope in you. Thank you. Thank you for being the God of each and every every day of our lives. And, Lord, may we look to you as the God of each and every day of our lives. We may we be coming to you for mercy for this day, not relying on yesterday's mercy and yesterday's bread, but relying on you for today's mercy, today's bread, today's forgiveness. In Jesus' name, amen. I came to you with my heart in pieces and found the God with healing in his hand. I'd turn to you, put everything behind me and found the God who makes all things new. And I looked to you drowning in my questions and found the God who holds all wisdom. I trusted you as I stepped out on the ocean. You got my among the waves as you're a god of all my days. Each day by day you make a way, and I will give you all my praise, my seasons change, you stay the same, you're the God of all my day. I ran from you. I wandered in the shadows and found a God who relentlessly pursues. I hid from you haunted by my failure and found a God whose grace still covers me. I fell on you when I was at my weakest and found a God to lift her up my head. And I worshiped you. I felt you right beside me. The only reason that I sing is you're the God of all my days. Each step I take, the same. You're the God of all my days. And in my worry, God, you are my stillness. And in my searching, God, you are my answer. And in my blindness, God, you are my vision. And in my bondage, God, you are my freedom. And in my weakness, God, you are my power. Your reason that I say is you're the God of all my days. You'd step by day. You may Y'all can have a seat God, thank you for this beautiful morning. I thank you for the the dads in the room lord that are looking to you so that their children may look to them God, I thank you that you are drawing hearts of men and women and children and that if you are lifted up, Jesus, that will happen. If you're lifted up, you will draw all men. So, in Jesus name, we come together this morning. We worship you, God and we also ask your blessing on our gathering and on our each family that we represent. God, I thank you that you are the God of all of our days as we look forward to that great and mighty day of the Lord. You're the God of everyone in between now and then. So lord, we ask that you take the tithes and offerings we put into these plates right now and that you would use em to advance your good gospel here in this valley lord and on the other side of the hill and that valley and lord, extending out from here and there to the uttermost parts. In Jesus name, lord, we ask you to bless and multiply this to do your kingdom's work. In Jesus name, amen. Amen. From Psalm 34, taste and see that the Lord is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him. I'm This poor man died. And the Lord heard me and saved me from my end. The song of God, somewhere else you're saying, you will live everyday night. Never ending prayers may our sins rise. And let us bless the Lord And comets all his name. You gather glorified the Lord with me. And comets all his name forever. Amen. We're up to second Peter three fourteen through 18. If you've been reading ahead in the text, you know that's it. That's the end of second Peter and so we're going to finish up today. It's just five verses. Give me a second. God help us center on you. Let us think your thoughts. Let us Meditate on your words, lord, and draw us in, draw us in a deep relationship with you, lord. Sanctify us by your truth, your word, lord is truth. Amen. So then, dear friends, this is the way it starts off this section. How many times he said this already? Dear friends, dear friends, dear friends, I think it's the third. Agape toy, it is beloved ones. Dear friends, now, you know, if you've been keeping up, that the second chapter is judgement, judgement, judgement, judgement, and the beginning of the third chapter also, judgement but the reality is there is a judgment coming and that's a lot of what this book is about but he's writing to be encouraging to these dear friends. Maybe he had met him, maybe not. It's hard to say. They were in the far flung reaches of the Roman Empower. He says it at the beginning, dear friends, this is my second letter to you. I've written both of them as reminders how or why to stimulate you to wholesome thinking. So, I want you to recall the words spoken in the past by the holy prophets and the command given by our lord and savior through your apostles. So, he's building everything he's saying on the foundation of the prophets and it's by the word of the apostles that were in direct contact with Jesus that were speaking his message and his world word to the world. So then, dear friends, agape toy, beloved of God, since you are looking forward to that great and mighty day of lord, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to be found spotless, blameless, and at peace with him. The work of the Holy Spirit is to sanctify us. He does it by his truth, by the word of God but as we submit our will to his, he will progress us in relationship and sanctify, set us apart more and more and more for God's holy work. So, he's saying, strive for that. Strive for that. Strive for complete surrender. If you mess up, admit it. Don't stay down. Strive for complete surrender. Make every effort. Make haste to be found spotless, blameless, and at peace with him. It's the work of God but you can participate in the divine nature by submitting your will to his will. Here we go. The little clicky clicker is not clicking right for me this morning, Blake. Perfect. Bear in mind that our Lord's patience means salvation. Every day that he waits, just like that video said, there's a new believer every day in The Middle East. That's somebody who is taken out of the kingdom of darkness and placed into the kingdom of light. Every day. So, the Lord's patience means salvation. Just as our dear brother, Paul, also wrote you with the wisdom that God gave him. That right there is interesting because there are people who would pit Paul against Peter because of a little passage in Galatians where Paul says, I had to stand up to Peter. Well, brother, sometimes we have to stand up to each other to keep each other on track, right? If Peter was falling back into old habits and sitting with his people and Paul says, dude, that's not the way we act. That's not the way Jesus was. Remember the Samaritan woman? Remember how he reached out? All the time he's reaching out. Man, you can't fall back into that trap. Don't do that and Peter's like, oh, oh, yeah. I guess you're right. Right here, he says, Paul's a dear brother. There's no enmity between them. Right here, he's saying that Paul is writing the same kind of stuff I am. He's talking about judgment that's coming and he's talking about salvation that's offered. There are but two paths you can go by, right? And there's no way to remain neutral. If you choose not to decide, you still made a choice. Bear in mind that our Lord's patience means salvation. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise. This is from couple weeks ago and last week. The Lord is not slow or slack in keeping his promises. Some understand slowness or slackness. Instead, he is patient with you. He's patient with you not wanting anyone to perish but everyone to come to repentance. So, that's the two options. You can perish or repent. Those are your two options. Salvation, he's mentioned in this verse, our Lord's patience means salvation because you have another opportunity as he awaits. To come to him. If you are a believer and you're sitting there and you're saying, elementary, come on, get pass that salvation. Yeah, I got saved when I was little. I walked an aisle at a camp. Then, consider this consider how much salvation looks like salvage, okay? Think about this for just a second It's not just salvation saving you from the flames of hell but it's salvage. He is taking a life that was destined for the junk heap and he has pulled it out of that. He's placed it into the kingdom light positionally. So, saved, yes but he is by sanctifying salvaging your life Y'all like old cars, old motorcycles, old bicycles, all that sort of stuff. If you take one of those that was headed for the junk and you start reworking it and you start some of em are difficult Quite honestly, some of em look like they're too far gone but if you have the will and God has the will, he has the will to transform and change and he will be restoring and salvaging a life and making it into something that's useful and good for the kingdom. So, bear in mind that our Lord's patience means salvation or if you're a Christian, you say, let's get past just being saved. Yeah. Our Lord's patience means that you have another day to submit your will to him and walk in righteousness. The message is across is this, I color coded it this time. It is to those who are perishing, foolishness but to those who are being saved, it's the very power of God and the being saved is you know, we want to say, we're lost or we're saved and those are just the two, those are the two paths. Those are the two eternal destinies but for those who are being salvaged it's the very power of God. So, you have the same power that raised Jesus from the dead is what's at work in you, okay? Just as our dear brother Paul also wrote you with the wisdom that God gave him. It's interesting Paul says, wisdom. Mean, I Peter says, wisdom. Paul always said by the grace that God has given me. Now, he was a very very wise man but he saw it all as an act of God's grace. Peter though looks at it and says, dude, that guy's wise. With the wisdom that God gave him, he, Paul, writes the same way in all of his letters. He's speaking in them of these very matters. The same thing I'm talking to you about. His letters do, I have to say, contain some things that are hard to understand. Glad Peter admitted that because when I'm reading through thinking about preparing for a sermon and coming in and I'm like, how do I explain this? You hit stuff in Paul sometimes. Now, the the whole corpus of all of Paul's work adds to and you get to understand it but there are some things that are hard to understand but he's saying, Is grace hard to understand It is Humanly speaking, it is because you get what you pay for, right? We all think that way but if Paul presents the gospel, the good news of Jesus as a gospel of grace that it's absolutely free to anybody who would receive it just as it's offered freely, freely then that's it. Now, people want to pay and they want to do things. They want to work. A lot of us don't want to work quite honestly either but if you see in Paul that it's a gospel of grace, either you buck against it and say, that's not true from the legalistic ditch. You have to do these things or from over here, you go, dude, if that's true, I'm going to smoke it up. Do whatever I want to do. The good old gospel messages pulling you out of that ditch and it's pulling you out of this ditch. There are some things that are hard to understand. This is an interesting word too. Dysnoeta. He's just mentioned repentance which is and this is which is about your mind Things that are hard to get into your mind is what this is. The other is repentance is a change of mind It's a turning Properly, it's hard to understand. It's difficult to grasp. It's hard to mentally process That which is intellectually difficult to capture the true sense of. It's only used here. So, you word nerds, it's a hypo It's the only time it's used in the New Testament they call it only word It's hard to understand which he says ignorant and unstable people distort. Have you ever heard anybody distort God's word Peter has some harsh words for the false teachers before and he still does. He's saying that they're ignorant and they're unstable As they do with the other scriptures Now, there are couple of points here out to their own destruction. Excuse Ignorant and unstable people distort the things that Paul has said. As they do the other scriptures to their own destruction. Now, there's one explicit point here and one implicit point. When he says, Paul's letters contain some things that are hard to understand which ignorant and unstable people distort. He's saying that outright. But then, when he says, as they do the other scriptures, there's something implicit there that I think is comforting for us as New Testament Christians. People are distorting what Paul says or Paul has written to justify their heresies, okay? That's explicit. He says that outright. He said, there will be among you false teachers who will introduce destructive heresies and they'll use Paul to back em themselves up When he says other scriptures, he implies that Peter saw Paul's writing as authoritative, okay? That's a weird concept since it's about thirty three, thirty four years after the cross at this point but for Peter to already be saying, I mean, all these letters are circulating. Have this one be read in Colossian. Have this one be read in Laodicea. Read these letters and for Peter to recognize that about Paul. He also said earlier, I'm going to do everything within my power to make sure you never forget this stuff. I'm going to do everything I can to remind you and so, he writes it down too. He sees how effective it is when God's word is shared through real people through real community Therefore, dear friends, agape to there it is again. Since you have been forewarned and you have been. Since you've been forewarned about the false teachers, since you've been forewarned, about everything that's going to be heretical among you about reading and knowing your scriptures, paying attention to people who are presenting Jesus's life and gospel of grace. Therefore, dear friends, since you have been forewarned, be on your guard so that you may not be carried away by the error of the lawless and fall from your secure position. Now, this is another one of those places where if you fall on either side of the the divide between Calvinism and Armenianism, you might go to this text and go, oh, come on. I can't stand that. Once you're saved, you're always saved. What's he even talking about right this? I wish it wasn't in the Bible. I want you to think about that salvage comment I made a little while ago. If you're fixing up an old car and you're working on it and you're going and you get it running and stopping and you get it starting to be a little straighter than it was. You cleaning out the waves. You're bondoing it up. Things are getting to go better and then you hit the brakes because somebody in front of you is texting and when you slam on the brakes, it pops a line and you just go forward. There's something that's gotta be done right there. You were secure, right? You were secure that the brakes were going to work and then when you hit em, didn't work. There's a failure at some point. You gotta inspect it all. God's inspected it all. He's working through all of this Be on your guard so that you may not be carried away and lose your secure footing fall from your secure position advance advance advance in your sanctification by submitting your will to God but at times, you're going to fall. You are going to You can be led astray by other people. Don't let that happen. Okay. Are we all in Tondido? Yeah? Until right then. But grow in the grace and the knowledge of our lord and savior Jesus Christ. This is the last verse but grow in the grace and in the knowledge of our lord and savior Jesus Christ. When I accepted Christ as a little kid and did walk the aisle in a little camp in Georgia, Jesus others knew, Camp Joy. I did not have any idea how much I needed God's grace. I knew the right answers. I knew that the offer was real. I believed it. I had always believed that but then it was for me and I was like, oh my goodness. This is for me. Why did God do that? I began to cry and it was an emotional thing for me. It was emotional for me because I realized my own brokenness I realized that it was for me even though I was a good little church boy and had never done anything really bad but God's grace covered the pride that I had in thinking I'd never really done anything bad and as I went on, I started to understand it more and more how my heart was prone to wander. Lord, I feel it but he would bring me back and he would shape me up. Grow in the grace, understanding that you really don't deserve it. But also grow in the knowledge. As you grow in the knowledge of God, you understand more and more about his grace. Grow in the grace and in the knowledge of our lord and savior Jesus Christ. He says, our, this is Peter, you know, Jewish background guy, leader of the apostles, leader of the disciples, restored by Jesus on that beach, and super humbled after his denials. I exhort you as a fellow elder among you, he says in the first letter. Grow in the grace and in the knowledge of our lord and savior Jesus Christ. He's saying this, just slinging it out there to the far flung reaches of the Roman Empire trusting that everybody who has taken Jesus as their own is at level ground at the foot of the cross. He doesn't stand up above them. We're saved by the grace of God and not by our works. Grow in the knowledge of our lord and savior, Jesus Christ. Grow in the grace and knowledge of our lord and savior Jesus Christ. If you had to boil down second Peter into one positive statement, it would be this, grow in the grace and knowledge of our lord and savior Jesus Christ and then he ends with the doxology right here. The closing doxology is this, to him, that's Christ. Be the glory both now and forever. That's the new international version. I've used New International all the way through this study and about three places in here where I'm like, that's not exactly what I would say. This one, to him be glory both now and forever. Yes, it has that emphasis but since the emphasis for this whole book has been on the great and mighty day of the Lord that's coming. This day of reckoning where it will either be your entry into the kingdom of God forever or you will be trying to explain your life. At the throne and fallen short. It's going to be a day of reckoning. So, to him be glory both now and forevermore. Amen. That both now and forever is looks like this. Kai noon, Kai ice, Hameron, Ioneus. Both now and unto the day of eternity. So, when that day dawns, it's either going to be for you like a thief in the night, something you're not expecting and really bad or it's going to be like your wedding day. The church will be the bride of Christ will be drawn into eternity on that great and mighty day. So, both now and unto, both now, starting today and until that great and mighty day of the Lord to him be glory forever. Period. Amen. So be it. That's the way he ends. So, that's the end of second Peter. We're going to go right now into communion and so if you are a believer in Jesus and you are looking forward to that great and mighty day of the Lord, please partake, okay? We might actually run out. We'll go get some more, okay? Would I, can I get the elders to come forward? Matt, would you come on up and see you now? Would y'all pray with me? Lord, I pray that for those of us who are in the room that aren't looking forward to that great mighty day of the Lord, the come Lord Jesus is our mindset but if you tarry, lord, let us be the carriers of your message that would bring more into your kingdom. Lord, I pray that you'd bless all those who trust in you that we would find ourselves equal at the foot of the cross and it would draw us in the greater and greater and greater unity lord that we may be one just as you and the father are one, Jesus. But lord, for those who are in the room right now that have said, you know what? I don't believe that. I I think there are probably a lot of different ways. Lord, I pray that you would convict of sin and convince of your righteousness that you'd illuminate your word, that you would allow it to go deep into their hearts, that it would find fertile soil, and lord, that it would begin to grow. Lord, I pray that you'd use those who are seated here among us that know you to reach those lord seated here among us that don't. In Jesus name, we ask your blessing on this little representation of the body of Christ. This little cracker lord is representative of the life that you lived here in the flesh without sin, walking every day, surrender to the spirit. Amen. On the same night that Jesus was betrayed, he took bread after supper and after he had given thanks for it and blessed it, he said to his disciples that were sitting there with him. He said, this is my body which is given for you. Take this and eat and do it as often as you will in remembrance of me. Lord Jesus, we thank you for your life for emptying yourself all of your rights, lord, and coming to Earth and serving out of obedience to the spirit with a purpose in mind. Looking forward to the time when you could ransom many In Jesus name, lord, we always pray because of the life that you lived in the flesh here. Lord, I thank you for living that perfection, for offering that perfection through your spilled blood. So, lord, we ask you right now that you bless this grape juice as a representative of the blood that you spilled, innocent blood was spilled on the account of all who would believe. In Jesus name, lord, we ask your blessing. On this cup as we distribute it. For everyone who would partake, lord, and for those who must let it pass, we pray the blessing of your word will be shared with them in a way that makes sense, that they can understand and take it in. In Jesus name, we ask for your blessing. Amen. And in just the same way that he had taken the bread, he took the cup after supper and he told his disciples there and he's still telling us today through his word that this is representative of the new covenant in his blood. To take this and drink and do it as often as we will in remembrance of him. Paul says that we proclaim the Lord's death until he comes again. He's looking forward to that great and mighty day of the Lord and since Peter closed with the doxology, why don't we all close with the doxology? Would y'all stand with me? And we'll just sing to God's glory. A study of God's glory right here. Praise God from whom all blessings flow praise him all creatures here below praise him above ye heavenly host praise father son and holy ghost. Amen. Amen. And now, blessed are those whose ways are blameless. How can that be? How can your way be blameless? Trust God. Submit to his will. Blessed are those whose ways are blameless, who walk according to the law of the Lord. Blessed are those who keep his statutes and seek after him with their whole heart. The Bible says, if you seek after him with your whole heart, he will be found of you. In Jesus name, I ask a blessing on this assembled crowd as they go forward this week. Use us, lord, to do your will and your way. Amen.
