And, let me just start with a verse here. Proverbs eighteen ten. The name of the Lord is a strong tower. The righteous run into it and are safe. We serve a mighty God.
0:09
He is strong. He is good to run to. Let's stand up and sing of him.
0:23
As the morning to touch your heart and glorify your name. And your name is a strong and mighty tower. Your name is a shelter like no other your name.
0:59
Let the nations say
1:00
louder because nothing has a power to say but your name.
1:19
Jesus, in your name, we pray.
1:24
Come and fill our hearts today and give us strength to live for you and glorify your name. And your name is a strong and mighty tower. Your name is a shelter like
2:12
welcome. Y'all can have a seat. Welcome. I'm glad that you're here. We've got a couple of announcements before.
2:19
I want you to check your bulletins too. Oy, today, there is a Spanish service at one hundred thirty. If you've been thinking about coming to it but you haven't been yet, you speak a little bit of Spanish and you want to. Today is a good day. 01:30 and we will be going in the book of John verses 143 through 51.
2:37
If you want to come and see when Nathaniel meets up with Jesus today. Monday nights are going to keep on happening. Monday nights, first B, 06:15, meal music, and a message. Need to say no more. Men's retreat happened yesterday.
2:52
Whoo. So, there they are. How'd it go? How did it go?
2:57
Did you do man stuff?
2:58
Oh. Alright. So, there was eating hatchet throwing. Oh, that's a different thing altogether. So that's the men's retreat right there.
3:13
I'm glad that that did happen, and it is kind of changing the channel pretty quickly to see this but that is the picture of the earthquake in Nepal and last week, I did not tell this out. I I said it out loud but I did not put the name up there. If you would like to try to help out with the relief effort in Nepal, this is the ministry that we are affiliated with and know well and we know that they are specifying two different villages, Gorka and Lamjong are the two villages that they're specifically trying to help seventy, zero families. So, if you would like to run ministries, we had a few last week that my accent confused you on what you should write on the check but that's alright. It's close enough and it will cash.
3:57
Check your bulletin. We have a few things in there this week that are official business type items and so, if you'll just check these, if you did not get one and you want one, please raise your hand. Doug has some and he will hand them to you. There are votes and that sort of thing that are coming up. We have a congregational meeting scheduled for May 31 and that's in there and it's official and I think that that is the last announcement.
4:20
Would you all stand up and greet one another and welcome em in.
4:25
Oh Lord, my God. Some wonder consider all the world's I hand in reign. And I see the stars. I keep the rolling thunder that power throughout the universe displayed. Join us if you would.
4:48
Sings my soul, my savior God today. How great thou art, How great thou art. Then sings my soul, my savior got to be. How great thou art. How great thou art.
5:10
And when I think that God is some not sparing, sending to die, I scarce can take it in. That on that cross, my burden gladly bearing, he bled and died to take away my sin. And then sings my soul, my savior got to thee. How great thou art, how great thou art. Then sings my soul, my savior got to thee.
5:48
How great thou art, how great thou art. And when Christ shall come with shouts of acclamation and take me home with joy shall fill my heart. Amen. Then I shall bow in humble adoration, and they proclaim, my God, how great you are. One more time.
6:16
I then sings my soul, my savior God's day. How great thou art, how great thou art. Then sings my soul, my savior God today. How great thou art, how great thou art how great thou art how great thou thou art
6:54
God, good morning. Good morning to you. It is good to meet with you in song. It's good to be singing to you. It's good to lift you up because you are our great heavenly father.
7:05
You care for your creation. You love each of us, and we wanna respond to that. And I pray that we would. Take the sleep from our eyes. Wake us up.
7:16
Thank you, God, for everything, The good and the bad. I was just thinking this morning that you wake us up in our pain often, in our suffering. And though we wouldn't ask for it, we don't want it, yet you scream to us through it. You speak to us through it. You calm us in it, you comfort us through it.
7:34
And I pray that it would be sort of the alarm that wakes us up to you, and that we would enjoy being in your presence and really say that you're enough. We strip all this stuff away, the music and everything, and just say you're enough for us this morning. Amen.
8:07
Blessed be and blessed be your name in the land that is plentiful. Your streams of abundance flow. Blessed be your name. Blessed be your name when I'm found in the desert place. I will walk through the wilderness.
8:36
Blessed be your name. Every blessing he pours out and every blessing you pour out, I turn back to praise.
8:49
When the darkness closes in low, still I will say, blessed be the name of the Lord. Blessed be your name. Blessed be the name of the Lord. Blessed be your glorious name.
9:15
Blessed be your name when the sun's shining down on me. When the world's all as it should be, blessed be your name. We give you thanks this morning, God. Blessed be your name on the road marked with suffering. For this pain in the uphouring, blessed be your name.
9:47
Every blessing you pour out, I turn back to praise. When the darkness closes in, oh, still I will say,
10:01
blessed be the name of the Lord. Blessed be your name. Blessed be the name of the Lord. Blessed be your glorious name.
10:16
You give and take, you give and take away, you give and take away.
10:26
My heart will choose to say, oh, blessed be your name again.
10:34
You give and take away. You give and take away.
10:42
My heart will choose to say, Blessed be your name. Blessed be the name of the Lord. Blessed be your name. Blessed be the name of the Lord. Blessed be your glorious name.
11:05
Just voices. Name of the Lord. Blessed be your name. Blessed be the name of the Lord. Blessed be the glorious name.
11:25
God, we do want to bless your name. We wanna give you honor and and not empty praise, not lip service. That's that's not what we're here for. We're really here to encounter you, the risen savior, and hear from you and give you our heart. Amen.
12:46
And, oh, that
12:47
rugged cross, my salvation, burial, I'll pour it out over me. And now my soul cries out, I'll let
13:04
do your
13:06
praise and honor onto live. Sent of heaven, God's own son, to purchase and redeem. And reconcile Hallelujah.
14:02
Hallelujah.
14:11
In full by the precious blood that my Jesus spilled. Now the curse of sin has no hold on me. When the sun sets free, no is free indeed again. Now my debt is paid, it is paid praise and honor unto thee. More good news,
15:24
the stone has rolled away. Let's sing of it.
15:29
See the stone is rolled away. Behold thee empty tomb.
15:42
Hallelujah. God honor unto thee. Praise and honor. Praise and honor unto thee.
16:34
God, I thank you for the divine rescue mission that you accomplished. You came, you lived, you died, you rose, you reign. And, we put our hope and our and our trust in your death and your burial and your resurrection. We really believe that the gospel is enough. And we really believe, Jesus, that you are alive and well, And we really believe that you're alive and well in us.
17:00
And I pray that there would be a response that, you have so moved us and changed us and are molding our hearts that there would be a a response. And as we participate here in the worship of giving, that's one response. But, God, my prayer is that during the week, people would be able to see Christ in us. They'd say there's something different. There's something winsome about God's people, and I wanna know more about what it is.
17:28
I pray that you would make us a winsome people for you. That when they see us, they say they see you in us. They'd see that you are alive and well and that you love. Oh my goodness. I pray that you would create in us a heart that wants to truly love people and care for people because that's what you've done for us.
17:50
And we give you thanks, and it's in Christ's mighty name we pray. Amen. Amen.
17:56
This week, we're up to Galatians four one through 11 is what you have in your program. That's what you have in your bulletin. Last night, Tanya and I were talking and I said, I feel like I've got a sermon right here up through five but I could stretch it to eleven. Actually, if I do that, I might have to get, she said, stop. Stop at five.
18:21
Stop. Stop at five. And I said, why? She said, because I'm just too tired. Alright.
18:26
That's good. I think that stopping at five actually makes sense because I'm gonna have a couple of weeks I'll be in Guatemala next weekend or headed to Guatemala next weekend and so we won't be there and it makes sense to stop at five. Also, verses four and five out of the Bible are just some of the best. It's some of the best two verses in a row in the whole Bible and I I want to stop with that thought and analyze that a little bit. I actually used it at a Christmas sermon a while back.
18:56
So, Galatians four four and five are beautiful but one to three are in between us and that. So, last week, we talked about this verses 23 through 29 and this first section is an elaboration on that from last week. Now, here's the text and these are the things that we highlighted last week. Now, before faith came, so he's speaking to Christians. He's speaking to people that are supposed to be Christians.
19:21
He saw them become Christians. He believed that the spirit was manifest in their life but he's walked. He's been away from them for a while and they have kind of tried to turn that in and pick back up some old bad things or they had they were being convinced by some people we typically call the Judaizers or the circumcision party to pick up the Jewish law for themselves but this is, now, before faith came, we were held captive under the law, imprisoned until the coming faith would be revealed. So, then, the law was our guardian and I mentioned the word for guardian could be tutor or the the Greek word pedagogue which where we get our pedagogy. Somebody mentioned after this service last week that disciplinarian is probably the best word or one of the best words for and that's right.
20:08
The law was our disciplinary and it taught us the way sometimes harshly until Christ came. In order that we might be justified by faith. But now that faith has come, we're no longer under a guardian for in Christ Jesus, you are all sons of God through faith and he hits this faith note over and over and over again. It's about what you believe. For as many as you of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ, There is neither Jew nor Greek, there's neither slave nor free, there's no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
20:39
And if you are Christ, then you are Abraham's offspring, heirs according to the promise. Now, the word heirs is where this week picks up and he talks about that for the first few verses. Union with Christ through faith, that was the point. Last week's sermon was all about that. Union with Christ through faith.
20:56
When you are not united to Christ, you have the promises of God. The promises of God to Abraham to be a blessing but it's through faith. That's what it's all about. So, we get to Galatians four one and two and it backs up to that third chapter by using air in the very first sentence. I mean that the air, as long as he as he or she is a child, is no different from a slave, though he's the owner of everything.
21:27
Do you get that? How true that is When there's when a child in a family is the owner of everything. In the South, this is something that's probably just particular of my experience, but in the South, sawmills are all over in little towns, you know, and I'm from a little town with a sawmill. And the bigger sawmills, the ones that have become kind of corporate, most of them still have family roots in our family run. But the the boss is usually the head, you know, the patriarch of the family and that guy will send his son to another sawmill for them to train him.
22:01
Because this guy is gonna be the owner of everything. He needs the respect of the people around him. He need they need to know. He needs to learn the ropes, but, man, he has a hard time coming up there. And one boss at one mill, say Newton Lumber in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, would call down to Thomasville, Georgia and say, hey, Balfour, would you all train up my boy this summer?
22:23
I'll send him to you for a while. And train him up, but be hard on him. Make sure he knows everything that he needs to know because when he gets back, it's gonna be his. This is gonna be his. I'm gonna retire, move to the beach.
22:36
He's gonna be the one running this thing. Does that make any sense to y'all? That that probably happens in other industries too. I know it happens in the mill industry. That son usually is the air kinda coming up through there.
22:50
He's no different than a slave. He works like crazy. Sometimes they do it at a distance. Though he's the owner of everything, he has to work through every single job in the mill. He has to sweep up underneath.
23:02
He has to clean out from up under chains. He has to grease everything. He has to know every single part of this operation. He's the owner of everything, but he works just like everybody else. That's the typical way that they train people up.
23:15
Now, if we look back to Roman times and we're looking at it, there was actually kind of an official passing, you know, rite of passage. Men's retreats, I always think of these rites of passage when y'all walk through those fences yesterday. Our our society doesn't have very specific things. Maybe a driver's license. That's kind of a rite of passage, and that maybe we'll talk about in a minute.
23:36
But though he is owner of everything, but he's under guardians and managers until the date that set by his father. This guy when, you know, when you're going to take over, when you're 25, when you're 18, when you're 17, it depends on the father. It doesn't depend on the son. Maybe it's just for the father looking for when he's ready, but he might say, hey, you have to be ready by this date. I'm sending you to so and so to be able to take care of it.
24:03
Relationship may be too close or he wants to remove him from the situation so that he has an even harder time going through it. So but he's under guardians and managers until the date that's set by his father. So far, good? Everybody with me? Yes?
24:18
I didn't have any real stories to start off with yet. In the same way, we also, when we were children, were enslaved to the elementary principles of the world. We also, now, we, right here, it could be that Paul's writing to the Galatians who are Gentile Christians and he's saying, we, he's a Jew, who are Jewish, we, when we were children, were enslaved to the elementary principles of the world, or he could be including himself with them as Christians. I think he probably is including himself with them as Christians and saying, we were all enslaved to the elementary principles of the world. So when we were children, it's a starting off phase.
24:59
It's not something that is expected to carry on forever. When Paul says in first Corinthians 13, he says, when I was a child, I acted as a child. But when I became a man, I put away those childish things. So when we were children, that's important. And elementary principals.
25:16
Elementary principal. Doesn't he look like an elementary principal? That's the Curtin Elementary School home of the Curtin Unicorns and he is their principal. I'm not talking about elementary principal with an AL or even elementary principals, two of them. Doesn't she look like a principal too?
25:33
She is. Elementary principles. They are the ABCs of any given subject. In fact, the Greek word means things that are laid straight in the line, like your ABCs, ABC. And I have something, a visual aid.
25:45
I don't usually have, besides the screens, many visual aids. This one, before I pull it out, up here is going to it's gonna be one of those things that it has different, especially when talking about discipline. It has a couple of different connotations. I'm not talking about that one. Don't infer it.
26:02
I hope it doesn't offend you or or send you into any kind of harsh memories of childhood. But this this is my belt. It's not my dad's belt. It's not something I was ever whipped with or anything like that. But it's my belt.
26:16
If you can see it, the front row can see it, it's got my ABCs on it. My uncle Tommy got a leather kit and he made this for me, painted all the letters himself, makes me cry to think about it. In every belt drawer or belt hanging situation I've ever had in my whole life, I've kept this thing. It wouldn't go around my thigh, I don't think. Maybe.
26:37
But it has my ABCs on it. It fit me. I wore it all the time, and I just absolutely loved it. It was something that was very, very precious and important to me. Still is.
26:46
Because it was during that time, it was something where I really wanted to know those ABCs, you know, and it was kind of a help for that but he loved me and he was taking care of me and he was setting things straight and yes, there is more to a belt and disciplinary and everything else. That's not what that is about, though. Those were elementary things. I had that when I was in elementary school. ABCs of any Gibson subject.
27:11
You need to know your ABCs before you can start learning about how they go together. You need to know that before you learn phonics and all that other sort of stuff. The rudimentary or formative teachings. So the first things, the groundlings, the first things that you learn is what he's talking about in elementary principles. Now for Paul, who was raised as a good Jewish boy and had everything done exactly according to the law as best his parents could do or best his mom could do, when they're working through this rudimentary elementary teachings, they taught him the law.
27:48
They taught him everything about how he should act in accordance with the law. So for him, elementary principles were actually spoken by God, given to the people to pass down. You shall say this and do this and to your children, the Shema, you will do this and they did. And so he would have known those things from his very earliest days. In Islam, the first thing that a baby hears is their statement.
28:17
You know about Muhammad being the prophet, God being one, Muhammad being his prophet. And they whisper that in a baby's ear When he's born, as soon as he comes through the birth canal, that's the first thing that they hear. It is an elementary principle. That's something that they instill from the beginning. If you're raising the family of a pickpocket and you are the guy who is going around and trying to distract somebody while your folks take their wallet, then those are your elementary principles.
28:44
If someone used a belt on you harshly without any need or cause, those are your elementary principles. Those are the things that are the groundwork for your life. Not that they're good. In Paul's case, God's law is good. No doubt about it but those are the rudimentary or formative teachings.
29:05
That's what you will base your life will be based on those foundations. So whether they're learned at home or at school, these are the first principles, the stoichea. I mean that at air, as long as he is a child is no different from a slave, though he's the owner of everything. But he's under guardians and managers until the date set by his father. And remember again, it is the father's timing that's important.
29:28
In the same way, we also, when we were children, were enslaved to the elementary principles of the world. So through four one three, Paul is pointing out that there everybody starts off immature, under a guardian, and enslaved. That is the way that every human being comes into this world, Paul says. But I love it. When there's a turn like that, I like that.
29:55
I love it when it's turned and this one, it turns in Galatians four and five and it's an encapsulation of the gospel and it's got lots and lots of all kinds of clauses and stuff going around but when the fullness of time had come, very strong change, immature, under guardian, enslaved but when the fullness of time had come to that is just at the right time, at exactly the right time in history, at exactly the right time in your life, when the fullness of time had come. You might have had to go through everything that you have to realize that you are immature and enslaved. Whether under a literal guardian or not. When the fullness of time had come and I was picking out one word to highlight on but this one's just great. God sent forth his son.
30:48
It was all his doing. God almighty sent forth his son. God the son came in accordance with the father's will. Now, it was up to the father. My example earlier, it was up to the father until the date that's set by his father.
31:07
God almighty knew exactly when it needed to happen and he sent forth his son, born of a woman. And the born of woman is to say that he is fully human. Fully human. And that matters. That shows up in our creed.
31:24
It makes a difference. Born under the law. Now, was born Jewish. So, he had God's law. That was established from his very earliest moments.
31:34
That's what Jesus would have been taught by Mary and Joseph and the rest of the community. He was born under the law and he knew it. I could go into another sermon right here. Yeah, it was without sin but we're going stick with the text. Think about that.
31:50
Jesus's elementary principles would have been the same as Paul's but not the same as the Galatians. They had not known all of this law stuff. They had been in a pagan situation. They had come out of different walks of life and different elementary principles but had been pulled and drawn by a loving God through the word of the apostle Paul coming straight from God. Jesus's elementary principles would have been the Jewish law.
32:16
Paul's would have been too but theirs wouldn't have but he's telling them, no, he knew exactly what God required. To redeem those who were under the law Everybody is under the law. Now, the Jews were given the law first but God is saying, these are these are the things that I require and he gave the 10 commandments. Man's traditions do creep in. There were lots and lots of others that were considered to be law.
32:46
When Jesus was asked to sum them up, he said, love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength and love your neighbor as yourself. So, vertical and horizontal relationships. If you look at the 10 commandments, the first four about your relationship with God, the last six are your relationship with people around you. Born under the law to redeem those who are under the law. Who needs redeeming?
33:14
Any thank you, Wally. Wally said, I do. I do too. Everybody who has ever transgressed the law. If you thought you could deal with the Old Testament law, just the 10 commandments.
33:28
If you thought you dealt well with that, my goodness, to see the New Testament interpretation of Jesus about adultery and lust, link those two together. Wow, maybe not. Maybe I haven't done so well and John in first John would say, then, if you say that you haven't transgressed the law, you're a liar. There you go. Broke that one right there.
33:51
To redeem those who are under the law. So, everybody's under the law. God sent forth a son, born of a woman because it mattered, born under the law because that mattered, to redeem those who were under the law. Even if you took a strict interpretation and said that this was just for the Jews because the Jews were first. Paul says several times, first to the Jew then to the Gentile.
34:10
That's fine. But redeeming those who are under the law, those who understood it so that they could spread the word to the rest. I started diagramming the sentence at about 11:00 one night and I was looking at it. I was thinking to redeem. What is that?
34:29
God sent forth to redeem. That's what he did. He sent Jesus forth to redeem. That was his purpose. And then we get the Hennicles.
34:38
My favorite thing in Greek is a Hennicles because when you're a preacher and you're trying to figure out what it is that Jesus says this for, what why Jesus says this or why Paul says this or why anybody says what they say, If they tell you, it's much easier. And he tells us right here, all of that he said, so that we might receive adoption as sons. Amen. Amen. That's exactly the right response.
35:03
So that we might receive adoption as sons. And then, there's that subjunctive that comes up. It came up last week. It'll come up again that we might. I've told y'all this a lot.
35:17
The the might there is a question of will. God's will is that it would happen, but he leaves the human responsibility to accept his drawing and agree with him about your need to be redeemed. And if you will align your will with his will, accept his grace, then you will receive the adoption as a child of God. No doubt about it but that might is in there. It's contingent upon your will if you want to.
35:51
The driver's license thing. Driver's licenses, they're privileged. Right? They don't have to be allowed if you can't live up to it. I remember, I wanted a driver's license so bad.
36:07
When I was 12, I was wanting to drive around, and I drove around the sawmill and around the farm and whatnot, And drove old pickup trucks in my Nova that had a three on the tree that was poor linkages I could barely change. I remember my dad griping about it. I remember grinding the gears. I remember everything that I went through trying to learn how to drive to be able to. But the law said, you cannot drive.
36:31
You're not old enough. You're not able to drive yet legally. But in the fullness of time, when the fullness of time came, my dad said it was okay for me to go and be tested. And yes, I could drive. And I had a license.
36:50
Now, legalism is one ditch, and we've talked about this quite a lot. Legalism is one ditch on one side of the road. License is the ditch on the other side of the road where you feel like you can do anything. Now when I was in high school, I drove way over in this ditch. Way, way.
37:07
If anybody had known, I was breaking the law. I was breaking all kinds of laws on speed and all kinds of stuff.
37:17
Anyway,
37:21
but I had a license to do it. I had a license to drive, but it still needed to be within the constraints of what was safe for me and safe for others. If I'm loving God and I'm loving others, I probably wouldn't have driven quite the way that I did. Does that make sense? When you're living your life, you live over in that ditch where you're in legalism all the time and it's always about the law or you can live over in that ditch where it's licensed or you can live right here and enjoy the drive.
37:50
And so I want for us to do this that we might receive adoption as sons. I'm not adopted, but I know a lot of people who have been. And I know that sometimes there's a question from those who have been adopted as to whether or not I have really been accepted by this family as if I were a real blood
38:21
relative.
38:23
Yes. Yes. The process is arduous. The process is something that takes to get through. There's a lot of prayer that goes into the front side of it.
38:33
There's a lot of pain in the doing of it. There's a lot of questioning on everybody's part but yes, if you received adopted as a child, you are that child. You are the child of those people who have adopted you and so that we might receive adoption as sons. That is full inheritance, joint heirs with Jesus as we travel this side, old song says. So so that we might receive adoption of sons.
38:59
Now, this was my this was my 11:00 work and I'm not going to leave it up there for any of you English teachers to correct me. I know they're supposed to be dotted lines and parenthesis and different stuff but this, I have forgotten some of those elementary principles of diagramming sentences. I think this makes sense to me how this sentence looks. Carl's like, whatever man. I'm not gonna go through it.
39:24
I promise. I'm gonna highlight something though. This is the operative part of this sentence right here. God sent forth his son so that we might receive adoption as sons.
39:37
So
39:41
today and right now, has the fullness of time come for you? Have you realized that up to this point, you've been living either enslaved by whatever it is, Could be a legalistic church past. It could be a whole different thing. It could be that your mom and dad were, you know, pickpockets. I don't know why pickpockets comes up.
40:06
They were not good people. They were not good moral people, I'll say. But you've been enslaved by whatever your past has been. You've enslaved by the elementary principles as they were instilled within you. So today and right now, has the fullness of time come for you?
40:22
Have you realized that have you thought, you know what? This this has gone on too long. This has been something that I cannot get past on my own and I've been trying and it's something that's just it's a curse that I'm carrying. Well, God sent forth his son, Jesus. And he's done everything that's necessary to redeem you.
40:43
Absolutely everything that's required except for your will aligning with his agreement with God about where you stand. Your sin, your past, give it to him all. You stand under a curse of the law already. So that you might receive a full adoption as a son or daughter of God. To as many as believed, he gave the right to become children of God.
41:09
Are you still enslaved? And that's it. Now, this was very evangelistic because it is the good news that God wants more children. He wants more children. He wants people to accept him.
41:26
Now, I realize I'm preaching to a church full of people and most of you wouldn't be in church this morning if you weren't already a believer. This is the passage. This is what it says. This is the message that you can carry in two verses. This is why Jesus did what he did.
41:42
So that you might be received as a full adopted son or daughter. Join heirs with Jesus. And Carl, are we going to, let's do the closing song, closing out this message and then we'll go into communion right after that. Is that good? So, into marvelous light, I'm running out of darkness, out of shame is our song that we're going to sing.
42:02
Would you stand with us? And we are going to go into the Lord's supper right after that. The elders will come and we'll distribute bread and juice and if you have never partaken before because you've known you're not a child of God and you just have seen it today, it's made sense to you and it clicked. Would you please, please consider stepping out in faith just like Abraham. Go into that place where God will show you and I'll receive you right here.
42:34
I'll play bass until you come forward, okay? I'll turn off my microphone. Nobody has to hear this. If you want to come forward during this operatory, also, you're a believer and you want to come and you want to lay something down up here at the altar, make a literal trip forward, stand, or sit right here and pray and lay something down here. That is open to during this song.
42:57
So, that's the invitation.
43:28
Here. I'm here. And you're glad you're me from my sleep your love it beckons deeper a call to come and die by grace now I will come take this life take your life sin has lost its power death has lost its stay Dead hearts now beating because of Christ. I'm dead. Are now we's beating?
44:55
My death has lost its sting from the grave you've risen. Victoria's the air are the way into marvelous light I'm run, out of darkness out

46:18
Amen. Y'all can have a seat and I'll invite the elders to come forward and this we practice an open table. So, if you are a believer in Jesus, even if you just became one five minutes ago, please take communion with us. Amen. Lord said, every time that you do this, do this in remembrance of me.
46:36
I don't care what your tradition is. I don't care what your denomination is. If you believe in Jesus, you're welcome. So, on the same night that Jesus was betrayed, he took bread after supper and after having given thanks, he said, this is my body and it's broken for you. Take this and eat and remember me.
46:54
God, would you bless us as we distribute it? As I want to do, I got ahead of myself. Take and eat and remember Jesus. Lord, we thank you for a broken body and for your shed blood. What can wash away our sins?
47:11
Nothing but the blood of Jesus. We thank you for the perfect life that you lived. In the face of many, many, very real temptations that you withstood. Jesus, we thank you for your blood. We ask you that you bless this cup and each one who receives it, lord, and for those who let it pass, we ask that you would extend to them your grace in a way that would be irresistible.
47:40
In the same way that he took the bread after supper, he took the cup and he said, this is the new covenant in my blood. Take and drink and do this as often as you will in remembrance of me. Would you stand with me and let's close with the doxology?
48:02
Praise God from whom all blessings flow praise him all creatures here below praise him above ye heavenly host praise father son, and holy ghost. Amen.
48:37
Amen.
