What does First B Jackson teach about christmas eve?

Drawn from the messages where it was actually addressed: the words said from the front, the passages taught, and where to hear the whole thing.

At First B Jackson, the Christmas Eve services are built around a single claim: Jesus is the light of the world, and His arrival changes everything. The evening moves through prophecy and fulfillment, from Isaiah and Micah through the birth narratives in Matthew and Luke, to show that the birth in Bethlehem was not a surprise. God had been announcing it for a long time, and when the moment came, shepherds, wise men, and angels all pointed to the same child.

The teaching holds together the wonder of the manger and the weight of what that child would become. The wise men who fell down and worshiped a small-k king born in a small town were recognizing the capital-K King the prophets had promised. And the gifts they brought, gold, frankincense, and myrrh, likely became the traveling money that got the family safely to Egypt when Herod wanted Jesus dead. God provides, and the giving that marks the season flows from that same instinct, worship expressed through care for those in need. The Christmas Eve offering goes entirely to the local benevolence fund, and the connection is drawn directly from Matthew 25: as much as you have done it to the least of these, you have done it to Jesus.

The candlelight closing is not just atmosphere. It is a picture of what the church is called to do with the light it has received. John 1:5 frames it: the light shines in the darkness. That light passes from person to person, and from the congregation out into the community. The invitation to follow Jesus, as the shepherds and wise men did, is described as just as open now as it was on that first night.
