What does First B Jackson teach about church mission?

Drawn from the messages where it was actually addressed: the words said from the front, the passages taught, and where to hear the whole thing.

At First B Jackson, the teaching on church mission starts with a claim that should be both humbling and sobering: God has chosen the church, not military power or political force, to carry the fullness of Christ forward in the world. Pastor Mark worked through Ephesians 1 to show that this is not a secondary idea but the hinge on which the whole letter turns. God put all things under Christ's feet and made him head over all things, but the very next word in the text is "to the church." The church is Christ's body, the fullness of the one who fills all in all. Pastor Mark has said plainly that this is plan A and there is no plan B.

That calling is not left without resources. The same power that raised Christ from the dead and seated him above every rule, authority, power and dominion is the power source available to the church right now, in the present, day to day. Christ is interceding from that place for the people he left here, and the teaching at First B presses on this as a present reality, not a distant comfort. The resurrection is not only a past event to believe; it is the ground the church stands on while it works out its calling.

Paul's prayer in Ephesians 1:15-23 shapes what First B understands that calling to look like in practice. It is not a prayer for comfort or favorable circumstances. It is a prayer that God himself would give the church a spirit of wisdom and revelation, an opening up of deeper, experiential knowledge of who God is. The hope of God's calling is already certain, established before the foundation of the world. The power to live it out is present. And the goal of it all, as Ephesians makes clear from its opening blessing onward, is the praise of God's glory.
