What does First B Jackson teach about church planting?
Drawn from the messages where it was actually addressed: the words said from the front, the passages taught, and where to hear the whole thing.
At First B Jackson, the teaching on church planting is rooted in the conviction that the Great Commission is not optional background noise but the defining passion of Jesus himself, and therefore of anyone who follows Him. When Scott Eichen preached from Mark 16 on Mother's Day 2013, he pressed hard on the fact that the resurrected Christ appeared to His disciples, rebuked their unbelief, and then immediately gave them a job: go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to everyone. The lost condition of every person apart from Christ, drawn from Romans 3:23 and Romans 5, is what makes that command urgent. God does not wait for polished people to carry the news. He used frightened, imperfect disciples, and He uses ordinary people in the pews today the same way.
Scott made that personal. After a long process of seeking the Lord, he and his wife felt clearly called to leave First B and join a church plant in Littleton, Colorado, in a community where studies showed over 90 percent of people in one zip code were unchurched and only one evangelical church existed for every 7,000 people. That kind of specific, data-grounded attention to where people are without the gospel shaped how he talked about church planting: not as an abstract mission strategy but as a response to real neighbors who have never heard.
The missionary voices First B has welcomed reinforce the same thread. Ken and Lori McEwen, who have spent decades planting Hispanic churches across Wyoming, showed from Acts and the Old Testament that God has consistently used the movement and scattering of peoples to advance His purposes. The unreached populations that once required distant travel are now living in American cities and small towns, including Wyoming itself. Church planting, in the teaching that has come from this pulpit, is the natural response of people who believe the gospel is true and that their neighbors' lives depend on hearing it.
