What does First B Jackson teach about glory of god?

Drawn from the messages where it was actually addressed: the words said from the front, the passages taught, and where to hear the whole thing.

At First B Jackson, the teaching on the glory of God starts with a working definition drawn from John Piper: God's glory is what happens when His holiness goes public. That definition is not just a theological label. It is the frame through which the congregation has been walked through hundreds of scripture references, from the Hebrew kavod to the Greek doxa, and through the story of Moses coming down Sinai with a face so bright the people could not look at him directly.

Pastor Josh traced that glory through Numbers 20, where Moses and Aaron fall face down in the wilderness and the glory of the Lord appears to them at their lowest point. The lesson there was not abstract: God tends to show up not in comfortable times but when people are broken and face down. The other edge of that story is a warning. Moses struck the rock instead of speaking to it as God commanded, and the consequence was serious, because the glory of God is holy and real, and the people of God are called to be faithful stewards of it, not just recipients of it.

Pastor Ray and Pastor Mark both spent extended time in 2 Corinthians 3 and 4 to show what the glory of God looks like in the life of a believer. The fading radiance on Moses' face under the old covenant gives way, in the new covenant, to something that does not fade. Paul's promise in 2 Corinthians 3:18 is that Christians, with unveiled faces, are being transformed into the image of Christ from glory to glory by the Spirit of the Lord. That transformation is not a single moment. It runs from salvation through the whole of a believer's life, and it is connected directly to Romans 8, where God's purpose moves through foreknowledge, predestination, calling, justification, and glorification. The point the teaching keeps returning to is that this is God's active work, not a self-improvement project, and it moves in one direction: toward the image of Christ.

The passage taught · 1 Corinthians 1:18

18 For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are dying, but to us who are saved it is the power of God.
