What does First B Jackson teach about great commission?
Drawn from the messages where it was actually addressed: the words said from the front, the passages taught, and where to hear the whole thing.
At First B Jackson, the teaching on the Great Commission starts with the grammar of Matthew 28. Both Pastor Mark and Ray have walked carefully through the Greek, pointing out that the only true imperative in the passage is "make disciples." The going, the baptizing, and the teaching are participles, the shape of how disciple-making happens, not separate commands standing alongside it. The commission is not a program for people with cross-cultural interests. It is the primary task Jesus left for his church, and it runs through the ordinary movement of every believer's life.
The story of Philip and the Ethiopian official in Acts 8 has come up repeatedly as a living picture of what that commission looks like on the ground. Pastor Nick and Pastor Mark have both preached it, and both landed on the same thing: Philip went when he was told to go, ran when he was told to run, and was ready to act on the Spirit's direction because he wanted the ball. The Ethiopian was reading Isaiah 53 aloud in his carriage, seven hundred years of prophecy pointing directly to Jesus, and Philip started right there in that text and told him the good news. When water appeared on a desert road, the man asked what was stopping him from being baptized, and the answer was nothing, only a confession that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
Scott Eichen, preaching from Mark 16, put the weight of that commission on the congregation plainly: every neighbor, every coworker, every grandchild is lost without Jesus. God did not wait for anyone to clean themselves up before sending Christ. He came for sinners, and He chose to use ordinary, imperfect people to carry that news forward. The same church that came from twelve frightened disciples is the one meeting in rooms like this, and the command to go into all the world and proclaim the gospel has not been recalled.

The passage taught · Acts 8:26-40
26 But an angel of the Lord spoke to Philip, saying, “Arise, and go toward the south to the way that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza. This is a desert.”
27 He arose and went; and behold, there was a man of Ethiopia, a eunuch of great authority under Candace, queen of the Ethiopians, who was over all her treasure, who had come to Jerusalem to worship.
28 He was returning and sitting in his chariot, and was reading the prophet Isaiah.
29 The Spirit said to Philip, “Go near, and join yourself to this chariot.”
