What does First B Jackson teach about raising the dead?

Drawn from the messages where it was actually addressed: the words said from the front, the passages taught, and where to hear the whole thing.

At First B Jackson, the teaching on raising the dead starts well before the Gospels. Both Ray and Pastor A have shown that God raising the dead is not a one-time surprise in the ministry of Jesus but a pattern running across centuries. In First Kings 17, Elijah prays over a widow's dead son and the boy is returned to his mother. In Second Kings 4, Elisha does the same for the Shunammite woman's son. Both teachers dwelt on that repeated phrase, the child given back to his mother, as something the congregation should hold in mind before opening the Gospels at all. The point is that when Jesus raises the dead, He is not introducing something foreign. He is the same God who has always been in the business of restoring what death has taken.

When Jesus encountered the widow of Nain, she had already lost her husband and was now burying her only son. The crowd was mourning with her, and she had not asked Jesus for anything. He stopped the procession, touched the bier, which made Him ceremonially unclean by the standards of the day, and simply spoke. The young man sat up and was given back to his mother. Pastor A noted that this is the same posture Jesus takes throughout: He absorbs what should defile or destroy, and returns wholeness instead. Ray drew out how the crowds responded by saying that God had visited His people, recognizing in Jesus the same presence that had worked through Elijah and Elisha before.

In a later message, Pastor Josh walked through the raising of Jairus's daughter alongside the healing of the bleeding woman, and the two stories press the same conviction. When word came that Jairus's daughter had already died, the message delivered was essentially that there was no point troubling Jesus any further. The teaching held that this is exactly where faith is tested: at the place where human limits say it is too late. The resurrection of the girl follows not because the situation was manageable but because death itself is not beyond what Jesus can handle.
