What does First B Jackson teach about rejection?

Drawn from the messages where it was actually addressed: the words said from the front, the passages taught, and where to hear the whole thing.

At First B Jackson, the teaching on rejection begins with a reframe that Pastor David offered in a message from the church's "forty days of love" series. We talk constantly about accepting Christ, he said, but the less familiar and more healing truth is that Christ has already accepted us. He drew from John 6:37 and Psalm 27:10 to show that even when a father and mother walk away, God takes us up, using a Hebrew image that carries the same weight as Pharaoh's daughter lifting baby Moses from the river. Rejection, Pastor David said plainly, is the deepest wound people carry, and it shapes nearly every decision we make, from the clothes we wear to the careers we choose.

He was careful not to suggest that being rejected means something is wrong with us. Jesus was perfect and still got rejected. The real problem, he argued, is not that rejection happens but where we go looking for acceptance afterward. He walked through the woman caught in adultery in John 8, surrounded by people holding stones, and showed that Jesus let her accusers leave one by one before telling her he did not condemn her either. David drew a clear line between acceptance and approval: Jesus did not approve of what she had done, but he accepted her as a person. That distinction matters, because it is the same grace we are meant to receive and then pass on.

Value and forgiveness rounded out the teaching. Pastor David set the chemical worth of a human body against 1 Peter 1:19, the precious blood of Christ, and argued that value is determined by two things: who made something and what someone will pay for it. God made us and paid the highest price imaginable, so the wound of rejection, however real and deep, does not get to settle the question of worth.
