What does First B Jackson teach about greed?

Drawn from the messages where it was actually addressed: the words said from the front, the passages taught, and where to hear the whole thing.

At First B Jackson, the teaching on greed starts not with a rule but with a diagnosis. In Carl's messages from Luke 12, greed is described as a joy-robber and a relationship-buster, a way of fixing your eyes on what you have accumulated rather than on God. The parable of the rich farmer makes the point sharp: the man's plans were not wicked on their surface, but his thinking turned entirely inward, and God called him a fool not for being prosperous but for storing up earthly wealth without a rich relationship with God to show for it. Greed and worry are treated as cousins in that passage, both shrinking your field of vision down to the little kingdom you are building for yourself.

The remedy Carl kept returning to was not discipline alone but genuine joy in God, flooding your life with things that stir your affection for Him. The passage itself supplies the fuel for that: God feeds the ravens, He clothes the lilies more beautifully than Solomon, and He says plainly that it gives Him great happiness to give you the kingdom. That generosity, Carl taught, is what greed cannot compete with once you really see it.

Pastor Carl's message on Balaam in Numbers 22-24 pressed further. Balaam said mostly right things and delivered real blessing, yet Second Peter calls what he did a reckless path. The reason was his heart: he was chasing money rather than God, and that drove him to keep asking God for permission he had already been denied once. Carl pointed to Psalm 106:15 to show that getting what you want through persistent begging is not the same as getting God's blessing. Greed can blind a person to spiritual reality right in front of them, the way Balaam could not see the angel standing in the road with a drawn sword while his own donkey could.
