What does First B Jackson teach about healing miracles?

Drawn from the messages where it was actually addressed: the words said from the front, the passages taught, and where to hear the whole thing.

At First B Jackson, the teaching on healing miracles starts with what they reveal about Jesus himself. Across studies in Mark, Luke, and Acts, the preachers have returned again and again to the same pattern: Jesus heals not to display power for its own sake, but because he is moved by genuine faith and real human need. Pastor Brian pointed out that the miracles in Mark 5 show a third kind of authority, after the calming of the storm and the casting out of demons, power now over sickness and death, always turning toward those who come to him with nothing to offer but their need. Pastor Josh made a similar observation: the focus in these stories is not only on what Jesus does but on how people come to him, and in both cases they come in humility, in desperation, and in faith that takes a concrete step.

The teaching has pressed hard on the connection between faith and action. Pastor Jason drew this out from the same passage in Mark 5, noting that both Jairus and the bleeding woman did not hold their belief quietly. Jairus walked to Jesus, fell at his feet, and pleaded. The woman pressed through a crowd she had no business being in and reached out to touch his robe. The pattern the teachers have traced across these stories is consistent: belief about Jesus stays passive, but faith in Jesus moves. Pastor Sean made the same point from Mark 7, comparing the Syrophoenician woman to others in Mark who come empty-handed, persistent, and humble, and noting that Jesus turns his face toward exactly that kind of coming.

The healing miracles in Acts carried the same weight for the early church. Pastor Carl traced what happened after the lame man was healed at the Beautiful Gate: the miracle created an undeniable public witness, and Peter was explicit before the Sanhedrin that the healing was done by the name of Jesus Christ, not by any power or goodness of the apostles. The church in Acts then prayed not for protection but for boldness, asking God to keep stretching out his hand to heal so the message would continue to go forward. And in Acts 9, Pastor Ray showed Peter willing to stop what he was doing and go where he was needed, available to be interrupted, and the healings in Lydda and Joppa each became the reason whole communities turned to the Lord.
