What does First B Jackson teach about justification by faith?
Drawn from the messages where it was actually addressed: the words said from the front, the passages taught, and where to hear the whole thing.
At First B Jackson, the teaching on justification by faith begins with the problem Paul spends the first three chapters of Romans establishing: every person, Jew and Gentile alike, stands condemned before God. Whether someone has lived openly against God or has been religious and morally confident, the verdict is the same. The law confirms the diagnosis but carries no remedy in itself. It brings knowledge of sin and nothing more.
The good news arrives at Romans 3:21 with the words 'but now.' Apart from any law or code, God has acted. Justification is His work, not ours. It comes as a gift, grounded in Christ's atoning death, available to everyone who believes, with no distinction between backgrounds or histories. The story of Abraham in Romans 4 was written not for Abraham's sake alone but for ours, as Pastor Steve and Pastor Blake both pressed, because the same faith that was credited to Abraham as righteousness is credited to those who believe in the One who raised Jesus from the dead.
What justification by faith actually produces in a believer is the subject Pastor Steve and Pastor Blake each worked through carefully in Romans 5:1-11. Peace with God, standing in grace, and a forward-looking hope are the immediate results. That standing in grace matters, not just a one-time reception of it, because it means past, present, and future sin does not pull the ground out from under a believer. Even tribulation, Paul adds, arrives at the same destination as the good seasons, producing perseverance, then proven character, then hope. That hope does not disappoint because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit.
