What does First B Jackson teach about peace with god?

Drawn from the messages where it was actually addressed: the words said from the front, the passages taught, and where to hear the whole thing.

At First B Jackson, the teaching on peace with God starts with where every person stands before Christ enters the picture. Pastor Steve, preaching through Romans 5:1-11, traced Paul's long argument from Romans 1 through the end of chapter 4, showing that the universal condition of humanity is guilt and hostility toward God. The word "therefore" that opens Romans 5 gathers all of that up and lands on a list of things that are now true for anyone who has been justified by faith. Peace with God is the first of those things, and the teaching is clear that it is not something a believer earns or maintains by effort. It is a settled condition that rests entirely on what Christ has done.

Pastor Blake pressed on what that settled condition actually means in practice. He taught that having peace with God is not the same as feeling peaceful, and that past, present, and future sin does not pull the ground out from under a believer, because what they are standing in is grace, not their own performance. Deborah, working through the same passage, put it plainly: through Christ we are no longer enemies of God. She described God as 100 percent for us, and she pointed to Zephaniah 3:17 as a verse worth sitting with slowly rather than rushing past, because it says God takes great delight in His people.

The teaching also connects peace with God to what suffering does in a believer's life. Because peace, standing in grace, access to God, and hope of glory are already settled, Paul can say that tribulations are not a sign that God has withdrawn. Pastor Blake described the progression Paul lays out: tribulation produces perseverance, perseverance produces proven character, and proven character produces hope. That hope, the teaching says, does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in believers' hearts through the Holy Spirit.
