What does First B Jackson teach about sharing the gospel?

Drawn from the messages where it was actually addressed: the words said from the front, the passages taught, and where to hear the whole thing.

At First B Jackson, the teaching on sharing the gospel starts with who Christ is and works outward from there. Pastor Ray has returned to this pattern repeatedly in Colossians: the same Christ who holds all creation together, the image of the invisible God, is the one who now lives inside every believer. That is not just a personal comfort. It is the mechanism by which people around each believer have any access to Christ at all. Their only access is through the people in whom Christ dwells. The mystery hidden for ages has been revealed to God's people so that it can be made known among the nations.

Pastor Carl and Pastor Ray both worked through Paul's striking claim in Colossians 1:24, that he is filling up what is lacking in Christ's afflictions. Both arrived at the same place: nothing is lacking in Christ's sacrifice when it comes to saving power. What is lacking is that the whole world has not heard it yet. The gap between where the gospel is and where people are still has to be crossed, and crossing it costs someone something. Epaphroditus nearly died making the trip from Philippi to Rome. Paul spent his life making similar trips, and he rejoiced in the suffering that came with it. The finished work belongs to Christ. The carrying of it belongs to the church.

Pastor Jason, teaching from 1 Corinthians 9, pressed on the same reality from a different angle. Paul made himself a servant to all people, becoming all things to all men, not to be liked or to turn a profit, but to win the more. He gave up rights he was entitled to because anything that clouded the message was too high a price. That posture, putting love for people ahead of personal freedom and convenience, is what First B teaches as the shape of a life oriented toward sharing the gospel.
