What does First B Jackson teach about easter?

Drawn from the messages where it was actually addressed: the words said from the front, the passages taught, and where to hear the whole thing.

At First B Jackson, the teaching on Easter keeps returning to one conviction: the resurrection is not one piece of Christian belief among many but the foundation the whole faith stands or falls on. Brad Yates worked through 1 Corinthians 15 to press exactly that point, arguing that without the resurrection, faith is empty and Christians are more pitiable than anyone. The empty tomb is the engine, not optional equipment. Alongside that, both Pastor Mark and Pastor Josh have walked the congregation through the entire week leading up to resurrection Sunday, treating Easter not as an isolated morning but as the climax of a story that begins with the raising of Lazarus, moves through the triumphal entry, the cleansing of the temple, the upper room, and the cross, and only then arrives at the empty tomb.

The preaching here leans heavily on the Old Testament prophecies that preceded the resurrection by centuries. Isaiah 53, written roughly seven hundred years before the cross, described a pierced and suffering servant at a time when crucifixion did not yet exist as a form of execution. Psalm 22 gave David's words about bones out of joint, a heart like wax, hands and feet pierced, and soldiers casting lots for clothing, words Jesus himself began to quote from the cross. The resurrection, the teaching consistently says, was not an improvisation. It was the fulfillment of a plan announced for thousands of years.

Pastor Carl has pressed the personal weight of the resurrection through John 20, paying close attention to each person who came to the tomb and what their response says about belief. He traced Mary Magdalene's devoted grief, Peter's headlong entry into the tomb, and the moment John saw the undisturbed grave cloths and believed. The detail of those neatly left wrappings matters, Carl said, because John included it as evidence, and the whole purpose of his gospel is to bring readers to belief. Whether the message is coming from Brad, Pastor Mark, Pastor Josh, or Carl, the question being pressed is the same one the angels asked Mary at the tomb: why are you looking for the living among the dead?

The passage taught · 1 Corinthians 15

1 Now I declare to you, brothers, the Good News which I preached to you, which also you received, in which you also stand,

2 by which also you are saved, if you hold firmly the word which I preached to you—unless you believed in vain.

3 For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,

4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,
