What does First B Jackson teach about father's love?
Drawn from the messages where it was actually addressed: the words said from the front, the passages taught, and where to hear the whole thing.
At First B Jackson, the teaching on the Father's love begins with relationship. When Don Young closed out the Prayer on Fire weekend, he made the case that all genuine prayer flows out of knowing God as Father, pointing to the fact that when the disciples asked Jesus to teach them to pray, he began his model with the words "Our Father." The love that title carries is not distant or conditional. Don described it as belonging, affection, and affirmation together, drawing on the moment at Jesus's baptism when the Father declared him beloved and pleasing. That same posture, he taught, is the one the Father extends to every one of his children.
Don and Deborah Buckingham both name a common obstacle: the picture of God that many people actually carry does not match that Father. Deborah traced the distortion to the enemy's deliberate work, and Don gave it a name, the orphan spirit, a lying voice that tells people they are unloved, unaccepted, and that their prayers go nowhere. Don described finding this deficit everywhere the College of Prayer has taught, from Africa to Asia Pacific, and said it is not regional but universal. Where the Father's love produces freedom, acceptance, and assurance, the orphan spirit substitutes fear, rejection, and insecurity. The goal of the enemy, Don said plainly, is to keep people locked inside that second column.
The answer both teachers return to is not trying harder but receiving. Deborah walked through lies that block that receiving, one by one, and set each against a specific promise in Scripture. Don led his congregation in declarations and a time of simply taking in what the Father offers. The teaching at First B on this subject is consistently that the Father's love is already poured out and already enough. The work is learning to believe it and stand under it.
