What does First B Jackson teach about waiting on god?

Drawn from the messages where it was actually addressed: the words said from the front, the passages taught, and where to hear the whole thing.

At First B Jackson, the teaching on waiting on God begins with the honest acknowledgment that waiting is often hard and disorienting, not a sign that something has gone wrong. Pastor Jeff's walk through Habakkuk made this plain: the prophet watched violence pile up around him, brought his raw complaint directly to God, and then planted himself on his watch post to hear what God would say. The point Jeff pressed was that trusting God is not the same as understanding God. Habakkuk 2:4 sits at the heart of that message, that the righteous shall live by faith, and the contrast drawn was between the proud soul that relies on its own strength and the humble soul that holds on to God's word even when circumstances give no visible reason to.

Pastor Josh's teaching in James 5 put the farmer in front of the congregation as the working image of what waiting looks like. There is real labor involved, planting and tending, but the outcome depends entirely on God sending the rain. James points the scattered, suffering believers to the prophets as people who paid a steep price and endured it, standing in a long line of faithful ones who did not get what was promised in their own lifetime. The coming of the Lord is the anchor that makes that kind of patience possible rather than merely dutiful.

Pastor Mark's series on Isaiah drew out a distinction worth holding onto: waiting on the Lord is less like checking your watch and more like a waiter at a table, attentive and ready to act at any moment. The four hundred years of silence between Malachi and the opening of Luke, which Pastor Brian traced in his Advent message, put the longest stretch of that kind of waiting on full display. God had not forgotten His promises. The word would be fulfilled at its proper time, as it was when Gabriel appeared to Zechariah in a moment of humble, faithful service rather than in any seat of power.

The passage taught · 1 Corinthians 15

1 Now I declare to you, brothers, the Good News which I preached to you, which also you received, in which you also stand,

2 by which also you are saved, if you hold firmly the word which I preached to you—unless you believed in vain.

3 For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,

4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,
