What does First B Jackson teach about grace and sin?

Drawn from the messages where it was actually addressed: the words said from the front, the passages taught, and where to hear the whole thing.

At First B Jackson, the teaching on grace and sin starts with a distinction that Pastor Mark and Pastor Jonathan both press hard: your position before God is binary, but your daily practice of following Christ is not. Every person begins identified with Adam, and through that identification comes condemnation and death. That is not a gradual slide; it is the default condition for all of humanity. But God's grace through Jesus Christ is larger than Adam's failure, and those who receive that gift are moved from condemnation into justification the moment they believe.

The natural question that follows is the one Paul raises at the opening of Romans 6: if grace covers everything, why not keep sinning so that grace increases? Both pastors answer that question the same way Paul does, with a flat refusal. The reason it cannot be is that the person asking has misunderstood what actually happened to them when they came to Christ. Baptism into Christ means genuine identification with his death and burial, not just a surface-level association. The old self was crucified with him. Dead men do not keep sinning, because they are dead. That identification with Christ's death is as final as the names carved into stone in a military cemetery.

Sanctification, the ongoing growth in holiness, is where the Christian life gets more complex. The trajectory should be upward, but it is a process shaped by the Holy Spirit's work and the believer's willingness to yield. Romans 6 lives in that messy middle, between the moment of belief and final glorification. The law can name the problem and modify behavior, but it cannot justify. Grace is the only thing that moves a person from death to life, and that grace is not a license to continue in sin but the very reason sin no longer has the final word.
