What does First B Jackson teach about eternal life?
Drawn from the messages where it was actually addressed: the words said from the front, the passages taught, and where to hear the whole thing.
At First B Jackson, the teaching on eternal life starts with what it actually is. In a study of John 17, Pastor Nick drew the congregation's attention to the moment in Jesus' prayer where He defines the term plainly: to know the only true God and Jesus Christ the one He sent. Eternal life, in that framing, is not primarily a destination or a duration. It is a relationship, knowing God personally through Jesus. That definition sits at the center of how the church approaches the subject.
The messages return again and again to the same question the people in the Gospels kept asking: what must I do to inherit eternal life? Working through both the rich young ruler in Mark 10 and the lawyer's question in Luke 10, the teaching at First B has been consistent. The honest answer is that no one earns it. The rich young man came running with his good record and his possessions, and Jesus, who looked at him with genuine love, put his finger on exactly what was standing in the way of real trust. Pastor Blake was direct: the question Jesus puts to every person is whether salvation can be earned or purchased at all, and the answer is that humanly speaking it is impossible, but everything is possible with God. The law shows how far short people fall; it does not get anyone in.
Pastor Carl, working through Romans 6, put the gospel's final word on the subject in the starkest possible terms: the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. That phrase, free gift, carried real weight in the teaching. Eternal life is not the reward at the end of a good performance. It is received the way a child receives something, with no status, no achievements, and total dependence on another. That posture, trusting in what Jesus has done rather than in what a person has accumulated or accomplished, is where the teaching consistently lands.

The passage taught · 2 Corinthians 1
1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus through the will of God, and Timothy our brother, to the assembly of God which is at Corinth, with all the saints who are in the whole of Achaia:
2 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort;
4 who comforts us in all our affliction, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
