What does First B Jackson teach about false teaching?

Drawn from the messages where it was actually addressed: the words said from the front, the passages taught, and where to hear the whole thing.

At First B Jackson, the teaching on false teaching starts with a simple observation: the New Testament never treats this danger as a remote possibility. Across nearly every letter, from Matthew through Jude, the same alarm sounds. False teachers come in from outside the church, rise up from inside it, use persuasive arguments, and pull people away from the straightforward gospel. The messages here have spent real time showing that pattern, reading through the warnings passage by passage so the congregation can see how persistent and consistent the concern is.

The shape of the error, the preaching here argues, almost always runs in one of two directions. On one side is legalism, the demand that people perform religion in exactly the right way to be accepted, whether that means the Judaizers insisting Gentile converts keep the full law of Moses, or any modern equivalent that adds requirements to grace. On the other side is licentiousness, the idea that because Jesus paid for everything, nothing really matters. Both moves are departures from the actual gospel, and both have always been present. The messages describe the gospel itself as a narrow path between those two ditches, and they return to that image repeatedly because the pull toward one ditch or the other never really stops.

The answer the preaching here keeps coming back to is not a better argument but a closer eye on Jesus. The finished work of Christ is enough. The certificate of debt every decree of the law brought against us was canceled at the cross, and what looked like defeat was, as one message put it, "the center point of all history." Anything that displaces that, whether a religious philosophy, a human tradition, or a self-made spiritual code, adds nothing real and takes something away. The call is simply to keep walking toward Christ by the same faith that began the journey, because the ground of the Christian life is not performance but the grace of a God who is leaning toward His people.
