What does First B Jackson teach about sharing your faith?

Drawn from the messages where it was actually addressed: the words said from the front, the passages taught, and where to hear the whole thing.

At First B Jackson, the teaching on sharing your faith starts with a blunt observation: we are all already evangelists. Pastor Brad has pointed out that we recommend restaurants, movies, and the best route to Salt Lake City without a second thought, and yet we treat faith as something personal and private. He named that hesitation directly as one of the enemy's most effective tactics, one that keeps us quiet while eternity is at stake for the people around us. Silence, he argued, is not a neutral choice.

Working through 1 Peter 3:15, Pastor Brad organized the practical shape of this around three areas: the attitude we bring, the answers we can offer, and the personal hope we carry. On attitude, he stressed that gentleness and respect are not just good manners. They flow from remembering that we ourselves were once enemies of God before He came after us. The goal is not to win an argument but to win a brother or a sister. On answers, he offered a grounding in basic Christian apologetics, pointing to three facts that even secular historians broadly accept: Jesus was a real historical person, he was crucified for claiming to be God, and his followers claimed he rose from the dead on the third day. He drew on C. S. Lewis's framework of Lord, liar, or lunatic, and said there is no intellectually honest middle ground that allows Jesus to be merely a good teacher.

The teaching also makes a point of addressing the inner posture behind all of this. Before getting into what to say or how to say it, Pastor Brad insisted that the commands of Scripture have to be held rightly. They are not a measuring stick for whether God accepts us. We start at the cross and the empty tomb, not at a checklist. The faith that saves is never alone, and it does produce fruit, but the foundation stays fixed: we are saved by grace alone. Nick Stern, speaking from his own experience sharing faith with strangers on the Camino de Santiago, put it plainly from Romans 10:14: people cannot believe in someone they have never heard of, and they cannot hear without someone speaking. For a congregation in one of the wealthiest communities in the country, facing no real persecution, the excuses run thin.

The passage taught · 1 Corinthians 15

1 Now I declare to you, brothers, the Good News which I preached to you, which also you received, in which you also stand,

2 by which also you are saved, if you hold firmly the word which I preached to you—unless you believed in vain.

3 For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,

4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,
