What does First B Jackson teach about salvation?
Drawn from the messages where it was actually addressed: the words said from the front, the passages taught, and where to hear the whole thing.
At First B Jackson, the teaching on salvation begins with what it actually is and what it costs. Pastor Ray McDaniel has come back to this question more than once, pressing the congregation to be able to say plainly what the gospel is, not just repeat familiar language around it. Drawing from Romans 1:16-17, the teaching holds that the gospel is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, and that salvation is not only a past event. Those who are being saved are in a progressive action, not a finished state. Justification happens at the moment of belief, but the living of it continues through sanctification.
Pastor Mark has traced that same thread through the Gospel of Luke, showing that Jesus moved through his entire ministry with salvation as the constant aim. Five scenes in Luke each carry the word 'today,' from the angel's announcement at the manger to the dying criminal on the cross who recognized his own guilt and was told he would be with Jesus in paradise. Each scene holds the same shape: a person in need, an encounter with Jesus, and a life changed on the spot. The teaching on Zacchaeus makes the point that salvation came to his house the moment he responded to Jesus, and that his generosity followed directly from his belief, as evidence rather than cause.
The messages here are also honest about what salvation is not. Pastor Mark addressed universalism directly in a sermon on Luke 13, calling it the most popular heresy of the present day and noting that Jesus himself is the one maintaining the distinction between those who enter through the narrow door and those who do not. At the same time, the door is described as genuinely open. People come from east and west, north and south, and recline at the table in the kingdom. Pastor Ray used the image of a wrecked car being salvaged to describe how God works: salvation is God taking something bound for the junkyard and working through the whole restoration as a person submits their will to Him. Being saved means being taken in and then being taken through.

1 The Lord Yahweh’s Spirit is on me; because Yahweh has anointed me to preach good news to the humble. He has sent me to bind up the broken hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and release to those who are bound;
2 to proclaim the year of Yahweh’s favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn;
